welp, I’m outta unposted mocs after this.
it’s been fun posting these random old mocs over the years, but I had to really search long and hard to come up with these last few mocs. After this, I’ll have to actually make new stuff. tragic.
nah but I actually do really wanna keep making new mocs, I’ve just been busy with college. Nonetheless, I hope this holds y’all over for some time. Enjoy!
Starting with Lucille! She’s a moc I made back in like 2021 or something, she’s a former actress turned vigilante, using a large prosthetic arm as her weapon.
This is an old MOV of a friends moc, who for some reason I made into the lankiest moc I’ve ever made. Legend has it that this moc escaped from me to start his career playing pro basketball.
The Toa Nanti!
Shum is an old Toa of Air, and the team leader. He’s rather harsh, but well meaning, and incredibly talented with his element.
Fahron is a meek but powerful addition to the team, using fire as more of a supportive element, but her unique application lends the team a great deal of help. Make no mistake though, she’s more than competent in battle.
Umtan is a cocky Toa of water, who has a decidedly ungraceful approach to his element, using it more often like a battering ram than how his contemporaries use it. His attacks are absolutely devastating.
Pahka is the rookie of the team. She’s a stubborn and hard working member of the team, using her elemental control of iron and her huge shields to act as the defenses of the team, providing cover and shrugging off powerful blows, before retaliating with her own attacks.
Moving on from the Toa nanti, we have Khizah, a Toa of lightning. Khizah grew up in her brother Kheizen’s shadow, and moved far away from him, guarding a port city and its overseas trades. She’s always training to one day prove her worth, regardless of the cost.
Kheizen was a prodigious Toa of ice, though he’s rarely seen doing much. He was raised up pitted against Khizah, and his cold mannerisms drove a wedge between them, which he grew to regret greatly. Kheizen grew disalusioned with the Toa, treating his job with frivolousness and hoping to one day make it up to Khizah.
Desipte Tirzo’s hulking frame, the Toa of Iron is a sensitive being, who spends much time thinking about his role in the greater scheme of things. He’s not the brightest tool in the shed, but is well aware of it, and worries that he’s being taken advantage of. Staying true to his heart is his recourse in trying times.
Nymia is a Toa of Air. She seeks a purpose beyond the Toa order, which she feels conflicted about being in. She keeps it to herself though, and quietly does her job, daydreaming of some place else.
Contire is a Toa of Light who’s regarded as generally pretty lazy. She’s extremely powerful, but also very conflict-adverse and eager to flee. Her girlfriend, Urski, helps her be bolder though.
Urski is a Toa of Plantlife. She’s blind, but works around it with help from teammates and by using the plants to guide her. Her no-nonsense attitude complimented Contire well, and the two became very close. Even though Urski is much less powerful elementally, the duo make for a very potent team.
Here they are
Egole is a snarky toa of plasma with a real callous streak. He feels tremendous pride over his rare elemental alignment.
Unnamed Toa of Plantlife. I genuinely have like nothing on this dude bro is a mystery to me.
Speaking of Toa of Plantlife, Birma. Birma is severe and harsh, decidedly unfriendly even to her teammates. She seems to prefer plants to her fellow Toa or Matoran, but grudgingly fights alongside them. While some worry that she’d backstab them, she never has, though her edges seem to grow ever sharper. She does seem to get along with a few matoran who share her hobby of music, though.
Rakkus is a Bone Hunter who somehow ended up estranged from her clan. She offers mercenary services for a quick buck, and has a Dune Wolf companion named Sahax. Rakkus is unusually witty, though she tends to keep the punchlines for herself.
Alright, done with the Toa and other Bionicle characters. Onto some random stuff.
A while ago I made a moc with the title “Nothing’s wrong when nothing’s true”. Well, I found some unused photos of this moc I took during the shoot, and I’ll share 4 of them here. These ones really demonstrate the high flexibility of the moc, which was a major focus.
One of the props I ultimately cut from the moc was this rack of ribs, lush with flowers. I liked the imagery, but ultimately felt it didn’t really make sense thematically and just looked cool, which I didn’t super vibe with. But, I have the pics still, as you are now seeing. Bit sad this never saw the light of day, but I’m content with my choices.
One of my latest WIPs was a mecha inspired moc, using pink as a main color. While i ultimately took it apart, it was a fun build to make, and I really liked working on a mecha. Maybe I’ll try again some day.
And for the last moc, I had been planning on making La Muerte, specifically her depiction from the movie “The Book of Life” which I found really cool. However I realized far too late that I was underestimating how challenging the face would be, and while I made something that sorta worked, I was unhappy with how clunky it looked, and also I didn’t have enough dark red to reasonably create her iconic massive hat. Maybe another year I’ll make this moc for Dia de los Muertos, but not but year. Or last year, I guess.
Thanks for checking this out! It’s nice to finally finish this little series of posts, though a bit bittersweet. I’ve been drifting away from the message boards, I’ll be the first to admit, but i don’t think I’ll ever really go away. It’s the first place I ever posted bionicle mocs, and it has a lot of emotional value to me. As such, this is by no means the end of anything! I’ll keep moccing, and maybe one day we’ll see a fourth entry into this series. Until then, look forwards to a new self moc around the corner (once I figure out the mask), and hopefully 2024 will be more eventful than the year prior.
peace.
