Velocity: Sullen Runner

Final Dark Hunter taken care of; all I can say doing something to emphasize her speediness was difficult given the limited pieces. Also, this moc was made from a repurposed Lariska.

Nopesta began life as a miner in her homeland, before being recruited into the armies of the warlord Takadox, under who’s rule Nopesta would discover her enjoyment of long distance running, something which would earn her a position as a runner within Takadox’s armies, and later delivering messages across the territories of the League of Six Kingdoms. The next fourteen-thousand years of Nopesta’s life would be spent like this, with the most notable happening during this time being her meeting with a gladiator from the Northern Continent named Vahsein, with whom she struck up a friendship.

It was while she was in the Northern Continent that word would reach Nopesta about the defeat of the League outside of Metru-Nui. At a loss for what to do, Nopesta would attempt to return to her homeland, only for the chaos of the widespread conflict brought upon by the Leagues collapse leaving her stranded. She would then be approached by Vahsein, who offered her an interesting opportunity; service under Vahsein’s new empire as his personal messenger. At a loss for what to do, Nopesta accepted, accompanying the warlord as he quickly unified the Northern Continent and the northern half of the Southern Continent, before Vahsein sailed west to Odina; having Nopesta return to the Northern Continent.

After Vahsein failed to return, Nopesta would continue to work as a runner for other warlords, slowly expanding her skillset to assassinations, during which time she would take out several high-profile targets. One such instance would prove disastrous, and would cost Nopesta her legs. For the next thousand years, Nopesta would be forced to perform odd acts for widgets. This would come to an end when she would once again encounter Vahsein, now operating under the codename Siege. Siege would explain his whereabouts and, taking pity on his old compatriot, take her with him to Odina, where he would vouch for her skill as a warrior, and Nopesta would be given a new pair of legs and a position within the Dark Hunters.

Now operating under the name Velocity, she would use her great speed to assassinate targets who needed to be disposed of discretely. When the Toa-Dark Hunter war broke out, Velocity would make use of her previous talent as a runner to maintain communications between the Dark Hunter encampments. In a surprising turn of events, Velocity would be signaled out as the one to help acclimate a new experiment, dubbed Quake, to life as a Dark Hunter, to which the Shadowed One sited her “even temperament”. Velocity would take a shine to her new partner however, and was quick to take him out into the field.

When war with the Brotherhood began, Velocity would use her speed powers to acquire important information and artifacts from brotherhood fortresses, and would soon work to deliver information between the Hunters and Order of Mata-Nui when they revealed themselves and declared war on the Brotherhood. When Quake was captured by the Brotherhood, Velocity would be left in the dark to this, only discovering after Quake was rescued and his mind was rendered into pieces. When Teridax revealed his takeover of the Matoran Universe, Velocity would go into hiding, taking any action to avoid being discovered by both Teridax and the Shadowed One. When Teridax was defeated and the Matoran Universe was evacuated, Velocity would spend time integrating into the Matoran-Agori society, before being tracked down by agents of the Dark Hunters and reluctantly returning to their service.

Traits and Abilities: Velocity is deeply cynical, the constant battles, serving warlords whose actions ultimately amounted to nothing and nearly a millennium spent without working legs having left her unconvinced that there is much to life worth pursuing, save for the day-to-day activities necessary to make it to the next day. She has also taken on a survival of the fittest mentality, believing that an inability to defend oneself is proof an individual was never worthy to live in general. Velocity is not devoid of positive emotions however, as she does genuinely care for her partner Quake and her former warlord Siege, willingly going out of her way to ensure their safety. She also possesses a strong dislike for the Shadowed One, viewing him as a mob boss who got lucky, with the only thing holding her back from turning her back on the Hunters being the knowledge that all defectors have turned up dead.

As with all members of her species, Velocity possesses hypnotism powers, though she usually refrains from using them due to a head injury causing her to develop irritating headaches whenever she uses those powers. Velocities greatest asset is her artificial legs, which have been imbued with pieces of a Kanohi Kakama, granting her incredible speed. Velocity also carries an acid edged scimitar created from a Keelerak pincer and a disc launcher which she used to fire reconstitutes at random kanoka.

Veeeery intriguing head design, something tells me lego 100% do something like that for Lariska.
