Then, depending on its style, could have been completely successful and a pop-culture icon. In theory, Bionicle could’ve been a popular book series. It had an interesting story, and if all the effort was put into story telling, then it could’ve been amazing. The fact it was a toy-line meant 1)it wasn’t taken completely seriously by people besides fans and 2) effort was diverted more towards the toy (which is the proper thing to do since it is a toy) rather than story. I’d elaborate more, but I’m too tired.

We would probably feel a bit more positive about its ending, with amazing sets and a great end to a fantastic story.

It would still have been an over-used build and fans would have still disliked it, though the function may have made the sets sell slightly better if adapted well.
What if Hero Factory did not exist but Bionicle still returned in 2015?

CCBS would not have the experience that it does now, and Bionicle might have plummeted.
