I’ve been focusing on my favorite characters from all of my main interests for a while, but now I wonder – who are yours? Who is your favorite BIONICLE character and why?
Jala. Stalwart leader, reliable in combat, and willing to stand up to a magical being, heralded as a savior of his people, that was also twice Jala’s size.
I’m always between Lesovikk and Takanuva.
Lesovikk because I’m partial to toa of air, and really enjoy his character arc. I also really like the bionicle characters with vehicles. His weapon is also one of my favorites.
Takanuva on the other hand has very main character energy, and the avohkii is one of my favorite mask designs. Gold also used to be my favorite color, and I’m still quite partial to it, especially the dark gold on og takanuva. Also, I’ll reiterate the above statement about bionicle vehicles.
overall, I genuinely can’t decide which one I like better, so I guess it’s a tie between the two
My favorite Bionicle character has to be Nokama. I’ve always liked Water characters (my first set was the Protector of Water), and Nokama always stood out to me as the only main Toa of Water (so not counting Helryx or Tuyet) who managed to be more than the stereotypes main female Bionicle characters were often reduced to, especially in the early years. Gali was the generic responsible “mother” character, and Hahli had practically no personality except headaches and her “Hahli the Barbarian” phase. By contrast, Nokama was able to defeat three Rahkshi on her own–two Toa and a whole village weren’t able to hold their own against the same amount.
I was harsh on Hahli earlier, but she is still one of my other favorite characters (mostly because of BIONICLE Heroes nostalgia), along with practically every other Toa of Water (despite my earlier complaints; there’s that water bias showing again), Lewa (my first G1 set), Kivoda (my first Bionicle set), and Krakha (The Darkness Below is one of my favorite Bionicle books, or couldn’t you tell?).
Hewkii. He’s cool.
Brutaka, at least prior to the unresolved antidermis incident. Liked the idea of such a deadly character being a fallen hero. And a lot of the later stories with him are really fun.
And Pohatu is just the best. So nice he was still a good guy in the evil Toa universe.
While it’s purely because of my elaborate head canon, Lord of skull spiders is my favorite from g2.
@Sonus, @T4k4nuv4, @Zhyndea, @Bioman, and @Antak3000 those are very great choices! For me, it’s between Gali, Lewa, and Takanuva. Gali because she’s pretty cool and nice, Lewa because he’s friendly and fun, and Takanuva because he’s basically both of those combined, plus, as @T4k4nuv4 said, he has that
Thanks to you all for sharing your favorite Bionicle characters!
He’s missing a hand, though…
Hewkii: Jedi Warrior
Coming soon-ish (never) to a theater near you…
It won’t be coming with dem LEGO lawsuits lol.
He said he’s cool, not handsome
True…
I sat here for five minutes thinking there’s a joke I don’t get, took me way too long to realize you were just playing on handsome… Anyways that’s true as well, look at him. Beauty ideals

Honestly I like Hewkii’s Inika design. He and Nuparu got some fun weapons in 2006.
I do too, his color scheme is peak. That version of Hewkii is one of my top three favorite Bionicle sets, along with Brutaka and Lhikan/Kikanalo.
The Inika were kind of weird and spindly but they had the coolest colors. I also really loved Matoro’s skeleton hand mask. 2006 also had a lot of really good characters in general.
@Antak3000 yeah. At least the Inika were very posable, so, that’s a plus. They had awesome color pallets, though.
