Why are Nuva masks organic in appearance?

I mean, when asking for a canon answer, Biosector is about as canon as it gets. Copypasting or just linking to it is all anyone can legitimately offer, in most cases; anything after that is non-canon speculation

I don’t see it being copypasted from Biosector? The Kanohi Nuva page doesn’t comment on their appearance.

Hmm… I have to respectfully disagree with this one. While it’s true that Biosector is probably the most comprehensive and accurate english-speaking Bionicle wiki, it is still just that, a fan wiki, thus having no authority over the “canon” of the franchise. It can be relied upon for most things, but even Biosector has lots of missing info, and sometimes contains outright misinformation. It is always good to check the primary sources to verify their meaning.
But most importantly, the site is not omniscient and new official sources containing interesting information are found every day, so I woud say that people can most certainly offer official stuff that is not on the wiki, they just have to work for it and do a bit of their own research. And I wouldn’t say it’s a rare occassion either…

To give an answer to the original question from my perspective, there are basically two:

  1. That is how they happened to look after being mutated by EP.
  2. That is how the set designers made them.

As far as I know, there isn’t any deeper reason behind this (unless a new official source commenting on it is found). It may not be a satisfactory answer to the OP, but that’s how it seems to be.
