Would a movie in 2006-2007 have been possible?

well, ive been thinking about it and we never got a movie on one of the most influential years of bonkle. Maybe of the dark tone or maybe the effects of lighting in this

but seriously, it could have had the matoran and toa nuva (getting rekt) then the matoran turning into toa inika then turning into mahri. and would they use the songs unlike the other bionicle movies? would it be possible for it to come out after the end of bionicle, discuss it below.

I’d watch that movie! A darker more drama filled Bionicle movie? Heck ya it would work!

They were planning to, then their contract with Miramax ended. They didn’t renew it for reasons that I do not know.

but for the Legend Reborn,Tinseltown Toons contract was too long so they used it for hero factory :sleepy:

it would have been cool, I would have watched the crap out of it, I would like it to have been longer then the other movies though

The concept is cool, but the problem I see is that in 2006 the Toa Nuva, who were very big fan favorites almost dying. Now looking at what a movie for a Lego product would look like, it would probably be a movie with a light/happy mood, and a movie where the big fan favorites are taken so close to death (like Toy-Story 3, yea that incinerator scene killed me a little) would not work well. So that rules out a 2006 movie.

As for 2007, the death of Matoro might have a similar effect as the death of Optimus Prime… So not very well…

As a kid, I was surprised it didn’t get a movie, as the past three years before it each got one of their own.

I wish 2006-2008 had its own trilogy of movies, alas it was not meant to be.

I would have loved that so much! 2008 would be great as well! It felt like the real end, it was the “final battle” after all. Would have been so cool! It’d be great.

Part of me agrees, but the other part of me saw Lion King and Land Before Time when I was younger. I’m sure it’d be fine. They put it in the comics, and I do realize film is different than writing, so kids had already seen this in the story.

You mean it would’ve made something on par with the 1986 Transformers Movie?

WHY DID THIS NOT HAPPEN?!

I would love a movie, in fact I spent a lot of my time as a kid imagining a movie. Visualizing those fights from the books. However, here are my issues.
Firstly, I feel some of the content of 07 and 06 would be cut out due to Lego’s demographic of mostly children. There are certain things that books can get away with that movies cannot. For example.
“When Avak went to check on the situation, all he could find of the Toa were bits of armour, a mask that looked half devoured and puddles of something that Avak would rather not identify”
These scenes are pretty graphic, even for a book. But I feel very strong scenes like this make you remember the characters. At least you can cut that scene out, I’d rather keep it in but I doubt it would stay. Some are a lot harder to avoid like the defeat of the Nuva, you cannot cut that out completely.
Also something that BH couldn’t help but do was make the characters simplistic by turning them into clowns. After reading the book I was very disappointed that the Piraka didn’t maintain their personalities. Just hurt themselves then making monotone grunts and growls. However, I don’t completely hate the game, Piraka playground was a lot of fun putting scenarios together. Avak, Reidak and Thok walked into a bar…Zaktan’s mismatched his antidermis mixology and they died of poisoning. The end. : P
Back on this, an example that they did this in the movies was both Nidiki and Krekka, also Tuma where they failed to be threatening despite their reputation in the books.
Sorry, I just finished writing an essay, also I’m very passionate about 06 lore… XD

They can just show bits and pieces (see what I did there) of the aftermath then just showing zaktan eating a kanohi. : /

That brilliant pun XD. That’s what I meant, they never actually described what happened so why place it in there. What I meant was showing remains, I suppose you could get away with it because their robots and its not actual blood as in having aesthetics of human blood.

They had a decapitation in the LEGO Movie, and toy story had some darker parts. I’m sure Lego could have figured something out.

I guess that’s just something to expect from Lego games. They did that with the serious characters from star wars and Indiana Jones and I’d be surprised if they didn’t repeat this patter with their other licensed games.
