Sorry didn’t notice that. Thanks.
I’m curious if I’m not the only one who really doesn’t care about this movie. The recent X-Men movies haven’t been all that great. Character development seems nonexistent at this point. Fox is just going through the major events in the hopes that the hype for them will do the work for them.
Nah, I don’t care about it all that much either, but for me it’s because I’ve never really liked he X-men to be honest. In fact I still haven’t seen any of the X-Men films.
Also in before “GIVE THE X-MEN BACK TO MARVEL” joke.
I don’t think you’re missing much. The original trilogy was better than the later ones, but they still weren’t that good.
Yay!
This looks .
I bet it’ll top BvS, but not Civil War.
Same here!
WHAT?! Wolverine! I totally didn’t see that coming! sarcasm
Honestly, I wasn’t that surprised. I doubt he’ll have that much to do, it’ll probably just end up being maybe a five minute cameo to up-one the X-Men First Class cameo. As long as Apocalypse turns out better than Days of Future Past, I’ll be happy.
It looks aight.
Glad they kept Quicksilver being Magneto’s son.
Marvel’s so petty making them inhumans lol
Not really.
They’re both being petty, IMO.
(But I like the MCU better, so…)
Not talking about the MCU,
Im talking about the comics.
Editorial mandate stated that since the X-men arent mutants, they cant let Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch be related to them anymore.
I Dont care what they change in the movies cuz it’s a different universe.
But marvel still owns the comic rights to all their stuff.
It’s the movies that are a problem.
EDIT: I think I get it…
I’m not saying the movies dont have a (negative) influence on the comic industry/story.
Im stating that since Marvel couldnt get the rights back to a property they willingly sold off, they decided to delete 30-40(?) years of history & alienate old fans.
which is completely pointless since MCU Peitro’s dead lol.
RIP Marvel, you cucked it up
(Still love Daredevil & Moon Knight tho)
X-men & Inhuman books are trash RN
Go read Uncanny Avengers. It’s got everything you could possibly want.
Meanwhile, I really feel like this movie is either gonna keep Xmen a foothold in the PG 13 world, or its gonna stink and Fox will make it full on R.
I read the one with Avengers Unity Division, that was pretty good.
I need to catch up on current stuff
Im kinda interested in it, it looks ok but it’s definitely low on my list of movies I’m interested in seeing
Its above BvS which I haven’t even seen yet
It’s getting somewhat mixed reviews so far. Kinda surprising given Singer’s success with Days of Future Past.
But going off the trailer, it did feel like X-Men was biting more than it could chew.
Welp, just returned from seeing it, so here are my thoughts.
[spoiler] I loved it. Why the critics are hating on it, I have no idea, as I think it’s a major step up from the flaming garbage truck that was Days of Future Past. This is the sequel to First Class that I’ve been wanting for some time. Apocalypse as a villain was good. He wasn’t the best ever, but he was good. The story overall I felt was well paced, and didn’t leave me questioning things like other movies do (cough DoFP cough). While some characters like Jubilee and Psylocke weren’t handled well and had very little screen time, the mutants that were the main focus I thought were handled well. Young Jean, Scott, and Nightcrawler were executed really well. As always, McAvoy and Fassbinder as Professor X and Magneto were great. As with previous X-Men films, it did a good job showing Magneto as a villain, yet making you wish he wasn’t the villain. The tragedies that continue to befall poor Erik help you understand why he eventually becomes the supervillain he is… until the last scene. I really only have one gripe with the movie, and that’s the way Magneto and Mystique end up. Erik says goodbye to Charles like he isn’t going to try to destroy mankind anymore, and Mystique is seemingly part of the X-Men now. Of course the next movie could show how this all falls to pieces and we end up with our McKellen Magneto. Unless of course the new canon is going in a complete opposite direction and isn’t going to try and redo X1 and X2, and Magneto stops being a villain in 1983. If that’s the case, then I guess the ending is great, but if it’s not, then I find the ending a bit odd (if not cool). Stupid Days of Future Past making the canon more confusing than it already was. Anyway, I thought it was a great end to a trilogy of films that started great(First Class), but hit a road bump along the way(DofP).
Oh, and that Wolverine cameo though…
