Hello Monopoly! As you know, I recently proposed the idea of a bat civil war to stir up more conflict for The Bats to take part in. My civil war idea would give a clear reason to fight and add a story/mystery element to the conflict. If you were to agree to this, here is how I see the war playing out:

• I create a topic where a mysterious moc named “The Golden Lord” (who would later be revealed as a member of the MMCC) tells the remaining bats that he has created a paradise where they could live without the fear of pests, but not every bat will be allowed entry.
• You or someone else would start a debate in the posts below the moc about if the bats should decide to live in the paradise or if they should stay in cornwall or wherever they are right now.
• As fighting between the two sides ramps up, The Golden Lord will keep making posts, revealing more and more of his body, until everything except for his head is showing.
• Finally, The Golden Lord will be revealed to be Evil Cordax, who was Regular Cordax, but he was subjected to the radiation of Chronicler’s missiles, and transformed into The Golden Lord.
• After it is shown that Evil Cordax was with the MMCC the whole time, the original conflict’s plot will happen once again.

note: we will need an MMCC correspondent (probably N01) to communicate with the MMCC and make sure that they wait until it’s their turn to fight.

Let me re-emphasise:

I want to avoid conflict for as long as possible with this

The war and the arguing it brought was the worst part of the trend

I will only resort to conflict if it is entirely necessary

I do not, under any circumstances want any war to ever take place again, and I will stay in that mindset. The war was stupid, tiring, aggravating and ultimately made the boards worse.

I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish by insisting on conflict, but if the war restarts I will have no part in it.

If it’s true that you’re sick of war, than give up the bats, and in turn the bugs will recede. That would bring peace, and you could prevent Cordax from getting his war, right?

I’m not doing this for the sake of starting a war, I’m doing it to prevent any future wars from taking place. If we can come to an agreement that prevents any. I know that it seems like I’m the bad guy here, and my methods are questionable, but I just want a future free of conflict, even if that means starting one myself.

I have no idea what Cordax is doing, but in the case that the war does actually restart, I want absolutely no part in it.

If Cordax has his way, it is with deep regret that I announce that I will be leaving the Bat Brigade. I’m done with the incessant fighting and I just want to go back to posting normal bats.

If I’m being honest, I feel fairly repentant about starting the whole thing. It was fun for the first few days, but it got massively out of hand and by that point there was no joy at all in the trend, just hate and arguments.

In the event that conflict does restart, I am appointing @Senit as the new leader of the Bat Brigade, and @T4k4nuv4 as the new second-in-command.

I had really hoped it wouldn’t have to come to this, but I fear the recent tensions may become a breaking point.

I’m starting to wish I’d never posted those bats in the first place, but it’s too late for regrets now. I’m completely done with both sides of this conflict. You’re entirely free to sort this out amongst yourselves, but I want no involvement whatsoever. Any further bat mocs will be on my Flickr page if you really want to see them.

Bolognese wasn’t meant to be a bat from our current time, she has already been dead for thousands of years, and that spear was indeed for fishing, in a time before their sentience was discovered.

Furthermore continuing the war is a bad idea, as it can get a little too heated, and we don’t need that.

The recently posted bats were meant to be just some lighthearted fun, nothing more.
Before someone decided that they were fed up with the bats and started building the bugs attacking the bats, none were ever meant for conflict.
They are supposed to be simple people, in bat form.
Not meant for war.
But then the entire conflict happened and, well we know what happened.

No, I can see where they’re coming from. The constant arguing is awful, and if it was directed at me, I would do the same. I know this seems hypocritical, but instead of trying to snuff each other out, we should try to coexist. It may not be perfect, but it’s the closest thing to perfect that we can achieve without more fighting. Perhaps we could act like the rats and try being “Mad Chill”?

Coexisting is what we tried to do in the second treaty, I can’t believe that it will work now, when it failed before. I honestly don’t get why doing away with bats and bugs is a big deal. We had been living without them for years before the war started, so getting rid of them now is simply a return to how it was.

we accidentally left one of the MMCC members in our base after Cordax’s invasion, but it turned out everyone was pretty cool about it and he’s just sending us wholesome pictures now

I think if we all just forgot the whole war aspect we could all get along fine

Why not lean into a world building approach?

Rifling through the backlogs, I see plenty of co-operation regarding lore and design, but it was all fueled by conflict

So ditch the conflict and take the peaceful approach, prioritize creation and exploration, everyone gets to have their cake and eat it too

Name cities, develop local cultures and technologies, let the lore inform the build and vice versa, maybe a gentle approach will stave off a second fight
