A beast made with a pair of custom resin parts. It looks significantly better in person, this color combo just does not work well on camera. It’s reasonably close to the general style of the official sets, though they have been modified extensively at this point.
I was having a hard time getting the axle shaved down on this blade, it was a bit rough and I can’t get it to slot into a ball socket like I wanted. So it has a stiffer attachment instead.
Dang, that mask color combo of red/translucent green looks good. I usually shy away from customs but I gotta admit that’s a banger of a combo. Was it the customs that inspired the model or the other way around?
I agree with @Ghid–the color scheme is excellent. I’m impressed with how you blended the more decent elements of the Beasts with an improved construction. Excellent work!
Customs are a mixed bag for me. I like my models in the mid-range size, and somewhat set like to fit the collection. But I’m starting to embrace bootlegs, recolors with good color matching in particular. Official parts cost too much for how fragile some of them are.
As for the colors, the mask and sword instantly put this design in my head. I’m glad the guy didn’t have a second sword available, since it prompted me to do something more interesting with the other arm.
Ooh, that might work. The chain has some clearance issues though (You might have seen that the launcher is expanded a bit from the chain in the center). So it might not clear the tile properly.
But does the chain actually have to run through the center of the launcher? If the 2x2 tile is in the launcher, the chain should be able to run alongside the launcher.
Well, surprisingly that fits, the chain is one of those pieces that has odd clearance issues so I wasn’t expecting it to.
Though it doesn’t stay in the socket very well. I did come up with a better design for the chain, which is now just fitted in rather than being pinned.
