Cyber-Hand's Forge

Yes, but 100% worth it for a complete collection.

So I painted MoUP again, this time it’s looks almost like from lego.

I know. I mean with expensive the program he use.

That looks really nice, great job with the paint!

Cyber-hand, you’re one of the nicest people I will ever know. Sorry I have been gone from the topic for a while, but reading that longer post you made a while ago wormed my heart.

But because of my absence I’m wondering a few things:
1st Is that the final edition of the MoUP?
2and I’m thinking of buying the mask sometime soon for an accurate version of it, what material should I get and what paint should I use?
3rd Any update on the G2 Mask of time? I’m working on a few stop motion projects that will use it.

Thanks for everything Cyber-Hand!

Soo… I just painted big MoUP too.

Guess i have to pick up that paint

Apologies, since I know you have enough on your plate with this and the Vahi and such, but have you ever considered making JTO accurate pieces? Because the villager torso shells in he series just look delicious. xP And also because we could then have a more effeminate Gali torso. :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway, just an idea, I might even try it after I get into 3D modeling and such.

How did you get that color?

@aatkaw I used this paint, Citadel’s Auric Gold.

It really is, luckily I got the program free from my school.I also find it the easiest to use out of the 3d programs that I have used in the past.

  1. Unless we get better images of the mask. Which the only way I see how, is if the concept art book has orthopedic images of the front and side of the mask then yes this will be the final version of the Mask. The thing preventing me from putting out the current model is that I am trying to work around the slight distortion that the camera would have given in the photos. Which would be easier if I knew the lens the camera was using.
  2. If you are willing to wait a little longer, the resin models that I will be making should be better than the the ones you can get on shapeways. They will be more flexible and much smooth/shiny. I will be selling them for $12, making them cheaper than shapeways as well.
  3. Not at the moment no, I am still trying to come up with a way to make it look good from the side. I will update you all when that is ready.

That being said I was told by someone that when I make it I should keep it as accurate to the images that we have as possible. So here is what I have done so far, which I think is pretty accurate.

As you can see it is just like the comic. Flat since we never see it from anything other than perfectly straight on, haha.

I did consider it but I don’t think I will ever get around to it. Since there are aren’t many good shots where we see the armour. But now that you mention it, I would like to try and make a figure that looks like the Villagers in JTO.

I am not able to print anything small and intricate on my printer at the moment. The filament I am using is too soft and keeps getting caught in the extruder. So I will be spending today working on the video that shows how to smooth the prints. It will be on the older version of the mask so look forward to that.

OK, I understand the accurate thing so we can all get the one from the comic, but I’m telling you, please use you’re own creative ideas to make one that works better as an actual 3d mask.

Thanks for answering all my question man!

I will definitely purchase one of those from you shen you get around to it

Please tell me that that’s not going to stay as the mask of flatness…

orthopedic has to do with the foot, mate.

But could it combine with the G1 Vahi? :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, don’t worry, I have some ideas how to make a cool mask. Just need to finish the MoUP first.

I will put you down on the list for one. Can you pm me your postal address so I can calculate shipping?

Of course it will be. As you know I strive for accuracy, and this is the most accurate way to do the mask. I am sure many would be happy with this mask. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Hmm, my phone must have thought I need more pictures of Makuta’s feet to complete the mask.

I am sure it could if you took a heat gun to it and melted the two together. (do not try this or you will destroy time in the matoran universe.)

In other news the first black acrylate has shipped out and the buyer has sent me an image of it.

I have to say it looks better than I thought it would. I am tempted to buy one if these myself.

You know, it isn’t super likely, but I may send TLG a letter asking if they could publicly release the whole collection of character models used for JtO. Though the company has a famous reputation for secrecy, they’ve also been surprisingly generous to the fan community in the past; it may be worth a try.
