“Okay, my love.” Sky smiled at Winter. She picked Vanessa up. “Look, I’m sorry… I’ll take you to the squad.” Sky said, holding her tightly.
“Cat, I don’t know what to do… I’m so scared…” Aries said trembling.
“I love her with all of my heart.” Grace smiled.
“Don’t be scared. There is nothing to be afraid of. Certainly not this” Catina said, pointing to the dead creature. “Or that.” Pointing to the severed tail from the vent creature. “Please be strong, for me.” Catina also told Aries.
“What are your plans after all this?” Ana asked.
Winter walks forward, “On your feet soldier” he offers a hand
“But it… It…” Aries said.
“Go somewhere quiet with my Sarah… Show her nothing but love every moment we are together…” Grace said.
Vanessa nodded, taking Winter’s hand.
“Are you hurt?” He asks concerned
“Would you mind if I accompanied you two? I really don’t think I have any where else to go…” Ana said.
“Nothing other than my prior injuries…s-sir…” Vanessa replied, her head held down.
“It what?” Catina asked. “They seem to be some mindless beasts. And if it weren’t for the fact we cannot wear our armor right now, we would be slaughtering them, however many of them have invaded our ship.”
“Since her father is gone… I try and take care of her as if I were her mom.” Sky whispered to Winter.
“Let’s get our armor…” Aries said.
“Doesn’t seem like any reason to not double time it back to camp, get moving!”
Winter looks at Sky, “What she wants, is a commander”
“Sir yes sir!” Vanessa retorted, limping off to the group as fast as she could.
“We could try.” Catina said. “No promises our undersuits will fit over our midsections. But it might still help. A few more weapons sure will help us too.”
“Are you sure?” Sky asked, wrapping an arm around him as she watched Vanessa.
Aries nodded.
Ana made a tiny snow man waiting for Grace to respond.
“Positive, she doesn’t want to be coddled, that there is a tough kid, she’ll make it alright”
He turns to her “About that private matter…”
“Oh! And you can bring your big robot boyfriend with you!” Grace smiled.
“Okay… What is it, my Winter?” Sky asked.
“I am resigning” he says slowly
“Um… Grace… Me and Agiselus aren’t dating… He is just a good friend…” Ana said.
