Halo: Two Hours

Lorraine quickly check for others, having seen none she dropped the grunt “viscous little bast*rds… Especially in packs”

Omar shook his head and looked around. All of the 4 Foxtrot Marines had been killed. As he lost hope, one in a corner began to move. Omar rushed for him, kneeling beside him.

“Sorry we were late…” Omar said.

“I’m not going with you… Look, my sergeant… He said there was a ship…” The Marine said.

“The evac transport we were moving to?” Omar asked.

“Outskirts of the city… Our sergeant said we were gonna go there to leave… And well… Look at us…” He said.

“That’s not our evac… What are you talking about, trooper?” Omar asked. As he said this, the doors to the warehouse could be heard exploding open. “Nevermind… We have to get out of here before the Covenant catch up.” Omar said, taking the soldier’s dog tags.

“So what’s the plan now then?” Andrew asked putting his gun to his side.

Jordan grunted as he looked around.

“We’re gonna join Arthur and the others. Come on… Just up ahead.” Omar said as they marched on. Finally, they reached the other side of the warehouse, and exited. Outside they could see Arthur and his men up the road.

It wasn’t long until they reached the evacuation zone. It seemed that the Marines at the defenses gained hope at the sight of the relatively new looking M8080V.

Omar and his group entered the drydock to see maybe thousands of civilians flocking to a mining vessel, which was too full.

“Women and children first!” A Marine called at one of the entry points to the ship, several men trying to break through him. The entire area was rife with heartbreak, crying children, screaming fathers, and weeping mothers.

“Marines… Reinforce those entry points. I hate to say it, but not everyone can get on this ship. But that doesn’t mean we can’t save everyone we can.” Arthur ordered.

“Yes sir.” Omar sighed.

“So we’re gonna try and hold out until another ship arrives?” Andrew asked. “Sounds easy, if we can pull it off.”

“There is no new ship. These people are being led to bunkers if they aren’t lucky.” Lawrence said. He didn’t like what they had to do, but they had no other choice as he beat back a civilian from entering the ship.

Omar looked to his right, to see a young girl, no older than eight years old, bawling and curled up. She’d be stampeded if she didn’t move, so Omar rushed for her. Reddened jade eyes turned to terror and fear as she was scooped up by the UNSC Marine, and carried into the ship by Omar.

“Momma! Dad!” She screamed as Omar handed her to one of the Marines at the entry point. All of a sudden he felt worse than the Covenant for what he just did, as the Marine took Sky from him. It was too late as he tried to grab her back, and stepped back as the crowds continued to harass the entryway.

“Your kid?” Andrew asked

“No… Someone else’s…” Omar sighed.

“This is Colonel Winchester, the Covenant are breaking through the defenses! Take off now!” A voice in their helmets called.

As the bridges to the drydocked vessel retracted, the crowds collectively screamed in horror. They were just cattle to be slaughtered by the Covenant now.

Andrew watched as he didn’t say a word. “Those poor people…lives cut so short.”

“Well… We’ve got to guide them to the bunkers now…” Omar said as he navigated through the crowds.

A lance of green plasma flew out from the distance and impacted the farther of the small girl, the shot ripped through his chest burning his insides as he fell to the ground. Her old turned around to see a group of large armoured aliens slowly moving forward with large volumes of grunts and jackals

Three of the five creatures wore a golden armour that glimmered in the sunlight. The tallest of the gold figures lowered his rifle and retrieved a device from his hip, with a loud roar it held the device high and a blue blade formed from it and the lesser races began to charge

“Marines! Take that f*cker down!” Arthur shouted, running toward the Elite with several other unnamed troopers

Ammon quickly mowed down a few grunts before charging at the Elites, spraying them down with a relentless stream of bullets.

“How do we even eliminate the golden b*stards?” Andrew asked joining in on the firing of the jackals and grunts.

“Same way we deal with everything else, big boom and lots of blood” Ammon replied. “CLEAR!” He shouted, motioning for the rest to get back before chucking a grenade at the Elites.

“Maniac” Katrina hissed, doing her best to drop their shields before the grenade went off.
