Mods To The 2015 Sets

So I did some really minor stuff to the Wairuha Toa.

Not anything really to the Akamai Toa because meh.

For Gali, I modded her shoulder armor to be more like Tahu’s. I think it looks better(shown left) than the default(shown right)

Also as you likely noticed, swapped out her upper arm bone to be more like Pohatu’s for Lateral Bicep Movement.

So yah. Poses and such.

Next is Kopaka. I gave his pike a longer shaft. It works better like this.

Gave his shield a legit handle. 2 pieces, super easy. If you have Kopaka, do this.

Did a similar bone swap to Gali.

I moved Lewa’s gearbox down a notch.

He looks fine.

Sets? What sets?
All I have are a bunch of protector MOCs.

(Warning: pretty much all of the content in this post has been edited, as a lot of it was written in error.)

Concluding all this

Final tally of mods:
Lord of Skull Spiders: Replaced Technic beams with CCBS bones, increased stability, nullified function for all but the front-most legs, armored-up abdomen, replaced stock trigger with a much less obnoxious one.

Kopaka: Considerably lengthened his spear, locked-up gearbox, added handle to shield.

Tahu: Added lateral bicep movement, added armor to the back of his lower-legs, locked-up gearbox.

Lewa: Moved gearbox down one peg, moved back-armor up one peg, locked-up gearbox, totally changed the X-Glider function.

Gali: Added lateral bicep movement, locked-up gearbox, rotated “trident” (I think it’s an axe) pieces 180 degrees.

Onua: Added lateral-bicep-movement, locked-up-gearbox, altered hammer so that he can store it with shovel pieces still attached, replaced one-module-length CCBS bone on neck with a friction-joint.

Pohatu: Moved gearbox up one peg, added this piece and replaced the two-length friction-peg with a three-length friction-peg, so as to both cover the open pins and allow him to store his dagger, permanently locked-up gearbox, added two of these (in black) and one of these to facilitate quick modification of Storm-a-rangs into a long-bow.

Protector of Earth: In pieces.

So my desire to MOD the sets has been utterly supressed by my desire to make OCs with the sets

I feel the same way :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep. I literally got all the sets. Displayed them for three days, then scrapped them for MOCs.

My sets didn’t last a day…

You people are evil… :open_mouth:

(Get’s in corner holding all the built sets while chanting…
The precious…)

I’m not evil, I just have an urge to create, and little urge to have something sit on a box all day and just look at it.

Just wait eventually your desire to Moc shall cause you to rip them apart limb by limb…

#Behold! The Lord of Leg Articulation!

And if you don’t get the memo given the pose he is in, he holds up fine and the function is unobstructed.

Now I know I said

in my last post, but there was one last thing to take care of.

P.S.
Onua: Attached an animation-length handle to his hammer.

Now, I fade back into the ether (with regards to this topic) until the summer sets arrive, when I shall begin anew.

Farewell my friends.

Not sure if this has been done before, but I found this one out the day I got Lewa when wanting to be able to store Lewa’s katana. It is stupidly simple and only requires 4 pieces.

It also looks better with black instead of grey, but I just didn’t have the black parts on hand when I took the picture.

I’l probably be doing this when I get Kopaka:

  • facepalm * * sigh * I knew I never should have said that.

Protector of Earth: Acquired a duplicate, beefed-up the Star Drill, removed the yellow extender piece on the back.

Protector of Water: Heavily altered the turbine assembly, removed the back-armor, replaced the 3-length armor+this on the front with a Mata-Blue five-length armor piece (keeping the “Mata-Torso” add-on).

beefed-up the Star Drill
[/quote]That’s a drill?!

I thought you had given him a rocket launcher…

Well, the reason behind its anime-style over-the-top size is that I’ve always (read: since an hour or two ago) thought of the PoE’s Star Drill as less of a personal tool and more of a beefy mining apparatus.
So I made the trans-purple mace piece the bit, gave it a protective cover, and made it huge, so that it would have some power behind it while chipping away at solid rock for hours on end.
Most of the design was inspired by TBMs (tunnel boring machines), the things that drill through the bottoms of rivers to make automotive tunnels and whatnot. All that, plus the fact the the dude’s buff as anything, is my justification for why it is so large.

It also looks really cool.

Some changes to Pohatu to make him look less boring and a little more like his Mata and Nuva form
Even gave him a kick ball he can wear on his back
He still has the jet boomerang feet because I thought it was actually kinda cool
I did use a nonpurist part for his legs though because otherwise he would have really far apart legs
