Videos: Rules and Guidelines

The internet’s filled with all kinds of video content. Here you may post anything that is interesting and, most importantly, appropriate to share with everybody on the message boards.

  • Please refrain from posting pornographic content or any other “Rated R” material. That’s not the kind of thing we want here.
  • This forum is for creative content in video form. So, stop motion videos or animations are welcome here. That being said, channel advertisements or just general discussion content (podcast or otherwise) isn’t allowed to have it’s own topic. That goes in Promotions and Advertising if you’re Trust Level 3.

Amendment I: You have to be at Trust Level 3: Master to post video reviews on the forum. You can learn how to earn the Master rank here: Trust Levels

Once the Master Rank has been achieved, Video Reviews belong in the ‘Advertising and Promotions’ forum. Text based reviews can be posted in the ‘Community Reviews’ forum with no prerequisites (meaning you are free to post your text based review whenever you want with no requirements.)

It seems that TTV tolerates fans making animated videos with audio clips from its videos. Are there any sort of restrictions or guidelines for such content regarding length of clips used and TTV shows from which clips ought not be used?

Can my COD vids get posted here, they are either funny moments or epic kills

What about a Let’s play?

Yes, hi, a couple of things. Firstly, your link to earn the Master rank is broken. Doesn’t lead anywhere for me. Secondly, the video posting rules honestly aren’t very clear at all. I have a letsplay of MNOG I was hoping to share with the community and by reading these rules it looks like I should be able to do that no problem. But I found somewhere where a member tried to share their series, and the topic got closed down with these rules having been quoted.

If I have to do something to earn the right to share my content on here I guess I’m okay with that (though as someone who’s not great at being active in online communities I find it a bit annoying), but I need to A) know what the requirements are and B) how to achieve them.

To sum up, the link needs to be fixed and the rules need to be more specific. Thank you!

The category you are posting in is a subforum of Creative Content. As such, videos shared in this category must have an emphasis on creativity and imagination to be considered shareable here. We allow stop motions, animations, shorts, original stories or fan stories.

A let’s play is none of these things- it’s merely a series of videos where you are playing a game. This falls in line with our stance on general discussion based content (where the draw to the video is you talking to a microphone) and belongs in the Advertising and Promotions forum.

While the links may be broken in the original post- these topics could easily been found by simply searching the terms in our search bar. I have gone ahead and updated them, however.
