My experience with that show was an odd one to say the least. I can see where your coming from with FLCL, I only watched 3 episodes (technically half of it), it’s very weird with all the robots popping from Naota’s head and the somewhat inappropriate metaphors, it made it not really something I’d continue watching. Despite this, I was strangely drawn to it and found it entertaining, I think it was mainly the music, yet at the same time I do feel the show isn’t as dumb as it appears. I probably won’t watch it again though.
Just wrapped up with Vinland Saga. Freaking loved it. Askeladd and Thorfinn both are such well developed characters that even though they were both not necessarily good people, they have elements to each that I found so relatable and so refreshing compared to many other series. Without saying anything spoilery, they could’ve made this whole thing a simple revenge story with a lot of edge, but the characters are so much more layered than that. Hoping that there’ll be more inspite of all the delays with anime.
