Hype Titan? You got it.

Please kill me now.

That… actually works.
Better than the actual game IMO.
At least it’s not always online.

No, seriously, please kill me.

I’d mount an Avohkii on a Titan if I could. :stuck_out_tongue:

I would not see the productivity of starting from the beginning again. LEGO would know that us lot would know what is going to happen; if they want a fresh start they can just throw the Toa Singular Mata and Multiple Nuva onto Spherus Magna and have a new adventure there.

Hey if anyone plays Minecraft, this hype has inspired me to create some Bionicle skins. If any of you want them, there are links to them in this topic on Planet Minecraft, in which I also educate that community about this glorious place xD

Looks so fake, still funny.

One question: Why would a Toa go back and erase all Matoran, Turaga, Skakdi, Rahi, Makuta, Vortixx, Dark Hunters, and Toa from existence when they’ve sworn not to kill?

just had to upload another picture! sorry for the spelling mistake in the picture my fault!

Just realised that discussion is no longer discussion :l

Who said that doing a reboot meant doing everything the same again? Reboots happen all the time nowdays; changing things up is part of that deal. Think of the way superhero movies handle stories from the comics. Sure, they might borrow a lot of the old characters or plot devices, but they could also do something fun and new with them. They don’t need to go over any of the same storylines or even characters again if they didn’t want to. That’s the magic of the reboot.

I personally wouldn’t like a hard reboot, though I know there is a good chance we might get that and im fine with that, but I would rather it be like when the BBC brought back doctor who in 2005. It still continued the story, but you didn’t have to know about all the old stuff to get into the new stuff and enjoy it, and if you wanted to you could go back and see the old stuff if your interested. I could see LEGO doing a similar thing with Bionicle. Spherus Manga being the new setting and having the Toa Mata/Nuva leading the villages or tribes or whatever they will call them, then new villians emerge and they have to stop them, maybe some old villians could be referenced or maybe make a return. And maybe if LEGO wants to, they could have some story writer go back and fill in the hole of what happened since we left off to please old fans. sure the story might not be as complex as it was before, but hopefully it will hove some complexity to it and it wont be completely dumbed down. but thats just my opinion of what i think should be done.

I completely agree. But the hype train can still derail and wipe out entire housing developments and be all over the news.

Not to mention that Lego probably isn’t necessarily doing this for us. At least not strictly speaking. They’re going to want to capitalize on the new market and younger kids as well. A reboot is the best way forward for all the reasons you just mentioned plus the fact that newcomers can get on board with the story as well.

@Jamescax We need to look at this from a business standpoint. Lego’s not just up and continue on with a story line that was Bionicle’s undoing in the first place. A reboot is the only logical way forward. Its the only way that makes sense for the return of an old theme.

I don’t remember who said it, but I saw on here someone mentioned that all we have are images and translated set names. That’s not really enough to make any distinction what they’re doing with the story and I agree. Speculation on the current evidence is pretty inconsequential. Right now I think waiting for more information would be best because as a collective group it seems like we’re talking about this in circles.

I have to disagree. It would not be confusing one bit if they did a time-skip and let all that old story stay canon, but never really refer to it ever again, or at least not make it necessary from then on. By starting a new story on Spherus Magna where there is a new villain, etc. it leaves LEGO with the opportunity to do whatever they want and have the story not be as convoluted.

I think it’s just confining in general. For one, Spherus Magna is a defined location, and they have to stay within the confines of things that were made prior. Two, there are multiple characters that are confirmed dead because their story had resolution. Three, they have to keep the ten year canon in mind, even if they don’t directly continue off. Events and characters have to be exactly as they were when we last left them. And four, they have to stick to restrictions that were made by the previous story team such as gender-related elements, which to be honest still makes completely no sense to me.

Rebooting makes the most sense, and is the most welcome option. I’d love for a fresh new story team to take the underlying concepts of Bionicle and update it, while making sure to learn from what had gone before. I’d love for them to return to more worldbuilding. I’d love for them to ditch the restrictions that were made a decade and a half ago.

There’s no reason to keep the old canon around when getting rid of it could lead to a new and improved Bionicle. Nothing would make me sadder than to see the line come back and just continue from where it left off.
