But if Kulta’s responsible for the Skull Creatures draining of the Toas’ Masks, why is he trying to destroy the Mask of Creation instead of draining it of its power?

perhaps he tried, found that he couldn’t, and decided to destroy it so that no one else could use it.

I figured it out.
(Going along my idea about the Mask of Ultimate Power having a body)
- Makuta will try and form a Mask of Destruction to defeat the Mask of Ultimate Power, and later Ekimu.
- The Toa will show up with Ekimu and the Mask of Creation and defeat him, as they think that Makuta will use the MoD to eliminate Ekimu.
- Once they defeated him, Makuta would be cured when the MoCr is used to create something to drive out the evil (the red-and-silver colors in ‘The Legend’) out of him.
- After being restored to his purple-and-gold look, he would help the heroes find his Mask of Control to defeat the MoUP.
But perhaps the MoUP will get to it first?

MEGA-EDIT: I was looking at the box art for the Skull Creatures and comparing them to buildings on the Ancient City.
According to the box art, the Skull Creatures will attack the heroes at certain places (Skull Warriors = Gate, Skull Slicer = Arena, Skull Scorpions = Graveyard, Skull Basher = Stairway to Temple of Creation, and Skull Grinder = Temple of Creation).
Temple of Creation (Forges): Far left, on a hill with statues of Ekimu and Makuta.
Graveyard (Burial Grounds): Middle, on a trapezoid-like hill (is Ekimu buried in the building?)
Arena (Ancient Arena): Far right, the Protector-mask-like building.
Gate (Gateway): A little below the Arena, the closest one to it. See picture below.
EDIT-EDIT: Hand coming out of the ground is a Skull Warrior that is going to sneak-attack Lewa with his Freeze-Bow.

I think that the toa with drained masks will get new masks crafted by ekimu and these “nuva” masks will transform them and the transformed versions will be the bionicle 2016 winter sets

Or, Ekimu may fix the drained Masks using the Mask of Creation.
