I want to know if the corruption has any signifigance story-wise.
Personally I’m hoping for something like how in Mask of Light Tahu’s mask was infected so he turned against the team.

What if it mutates them? Like the way Umarak’s shadow spawn looks, except it’s Tahu, Onua, and Kopaka mutated.

I am just glad they are using the normal masks, rather then the gold ones.
I hope something like that happens, that way Lewa, Pohatu, and Gali get to have some of the spotlight. Also, Toa-beasts.

They came out for one for the shadow spawns, so, assuming that’s the direction the story is going, it is possible.
Also, what if Umarak isn’t really killed. I think I remember something about him being born along with the creatures. Maybe instead if killing him off, he is actually cured of Makuta’s control.

I know people don’t like the Hordika, but I can actually see that working very well with BIONICLE 2016.

I was leading to that. Instead of completely tipping the balance, he actually punishes Makuta for taking control of him.
@Chronicler I liked the idea of half-Toa, half-beast beings, but didn’t like the sets as much. However, I feel this time around it could work out. The three end up being Umarak’s commanders and lead each type of beast.

It’s stated at some point that Makuta came to Kulta after the war for a secret alliance. I think it’s safe to assume that said alliance became a bit less secret over the course of ten thousand years… Plus, with Kulta as the only remaining Skull Raider veteran of said war, his word is the only reliable word on the matter. It would be pretty easy for him to work in some pro-Makuta propaganda a few generations later.

Just for the sake of clarifying things.The ‘final set’ rumour has been something floating around on a few sites, i only really remember it showing up on Eurobricks with someone very briefly posting a barcode that appeared to be for an unknown Bionicle set (Yet was actually a mislabelled set from a different theme)
In essence the rumour essentially believes that Lego would be cancelling Bionicle prematurely with no 2017 wave. The rumour goes on to use the idea that the designers and/or Lego would wish to release a final set containing Makuta (Who has yet to have a G2 set) and the Mask Of Ultimate Power (The Mask the 2017 storyline would have focused on)
What this would mean for fans hoping for a G2 Mask Of Time is unknown, but hopefully this has helped explain a basic idea of what the rumour is.
Just noting, you’d be better off getting these comments or situations actually recorded. If you aren’t trying to mislead us or anything like that, then having some kind of proof would help back-up your claim.
- In the event that your information turns out to be incorrect because you lied then you’ll probably end up being banned.
- In the event that your information turns out to be incorrect because you were given inaccurate information then you’ll probably end up being banned.
- In the event that your information turns out to be correct you’ll probably end up being viewed simply as a ‘lucky guess’
Its kind of a no-win scenario, best to hope for is that this information is accurate and you are relaying it rather than making it up. Either way, I’m content with just waiting rather than speculating. We’ll probably have a vague idea of what is happening regarding the future of the line when we start getting leaks or leaked information about a potential 2017 wave.
If there is indeed going to be a ‘final set’ then we’d probably find out about it roughly around the same time as we normally see leaks - as i suspect they would want to hide the final set until after JTO (Released July 29th) so August/September is still the rough time we’d know for sure what is happening.
Personally i like the idea of a ‘power vacuum’ of sorts - Umarak dies and his dark essence is absorbed by Makuta enabling him to return from whatever shadowy/dark realm he is currently in. (Whatever enables Makuta at the moment to appear as black/red fire)
JTO in all media advertising it before release was always intended as a four episode season (Prologue seems like an afterthought) JTO would have needed to be in development in later 2015 at the latest.
In essence, unless we got a slapped on ending with Makuta having the MoUP, it is very unlikely that JTO’s next two episodes would resolve the ‘Mask Of Ultimate Power’ and ‘Makuta’ plotline.
