Maybe they didn’t get enough sales? Just a thought?
I’m certain that he will be built by someone, somehow, eventually
It’s Bionicle 15th anniversary and it ended… at least we know one thing:

The sets themselves were never the issue, its just the planing, organising, marketing, and decision making that was off.
Most of us saw the end coming (but not as soon I hoped) due to the massive flaws in the way this gen was treated. Im sure the talented people behind the line had little to do with this problem, its the overall LEGO management that brought it down and thats down to bad leadership of the whole situation.
Yes, constraction is a hard nut to sell, but if you at least put more effort or used a better way of doing it. It would have succeeded. This doesnt exclude the effort of individuals within the Bionicle group, but the overal approach to the line was just…off and Im sure most of you felt that during this run.
This was figured out some time ago, at least we got official confirmation about that.
Darn.
I hope an inside source, for an example, maybe a designer, or the three fans who went to Denmark, would be able to release some type of how-to, kind of like how they did with the Shadow Spawn.
And I hope Leewan can make a 3D-Printed MOUP.
It’s weird though. When asked back in winter 2015, LEGO said that it was doing what it needed to in order to continue on. I can’t help but feel that the summer wave is what set this all in motion.
Dorek said he will release more photos of the model when the contest kicks off on Rebrick.
There could be another explanation on why the Forbidden Mask of Ultimate Power was never released… we already got it (a.k.a. the Corrupted Hunter Mask).

But wait.
There’s still hope.
LEGO said they would end the line at the END OF 2016!!!
That could give us 5 months for a Makuta set to be released with the MoUP (remember, LEGO stated they would discontinue the line, but they never said that they wouldn’t make a Makuta or a FMoUP. The prototypes in the video could be evidence of one last set)!!!
They already said there will be no more sets, nor that the mask getting a release.
But this is also weird, seeing as this summer was subjectively and in some way objectively better than the last years one in terms of sets that potential buyers would get cause they to me are more visually appealing.
Yes, I hope so as well.
Hope, as much as anyone that wants to assure themselves that some things are possible.
They said there is no plans on making the set, however that no current plan on making it may end up in a future making of a set if things make them change their minds. Of course this is the optimistic side since we arent out of the game just yet, the cancellation is still fresh one day, so next week and/or month may determine if a send-off set is going to be. If we try at least. A send of set of mostly already established moulds is a much more believable request than the return of the line as a whole.
Can you provide a link
Too much fuss to search for it (on EB) but I did screencap it to share elsewhere

Also what you are saying is that I should use that mask on Kulta model and pretend thats Makuta…meh sure. Now I at least have a reason to get Ekimu 2016 and Umarak the Hunter even more.
I really hope the photos are enough to recreate it.
Don’t we all.
I encourage you all to try as hard as you can to make your voices heard that we want a makuta set. The continuation of the line is no longer possible but I believe one more set could be. If we make our voices loud enough Lego will know there is a large demand for this. I know it’s a stretch, but I am so crushed by this announcement and I need to believe there is any sliver of hope. I don’t know how important bionicle is to the rest of you but it was my entire childhood, and I have never loved another franchise more. Please help me tell Lego that this was too soon. Help me try to get one more set on the shelves to end the line. Go to the Lego Twitter account, go to the bionicle Facebook page. Find any way to make your voices heard. Just don’t let it end like this. I know things look very grim right now, but I truly believe we can make a change if we really care enough. Please guys, help make our voices heard.
No, I mean the 2015 summer wave. The whole point is that the decision to end BIONICLE happened WHILE JTO was being made, which is basically before this year’s sets even came out.
Hmm, so conflicting information, or the sales were never the problem here.
So many variables and confusing bits of information. I’m not even gonna try to guess.
It was a nice run. I’m not quite as sad as I was during the first cancellation, not sure why though. Probably because it just didn’t grip me as much as G1 did…
