Lewa’s arms are waaaaaay too short (IMO). Seriously, why didn’t they use a longer bone piece??? I’m definetly going to Change it.

I agree that the toa need at least some solid colored parts, however, the Uniters are going for a more err…“OP im gonna get u Umarekt with my energy” look. The trans pieces make them look more filled with energy and power than solid pieces would. So while I like solid colors, the Uniters aren’t really meant to have them, so the overall look they have is exactly what lego was going for.

Tahu + Ikir + Tahu Ikir Combo;
- Still not a fan of the gold, only works when combined
- Silver and red mask does not really fit with the gold, orange and red color scheme
- Combined form looks better than non-combined form
- Ikir looks a bit disappointing now that I’ve seen better image
Onua + Terak + Onua Terak Combo;
- Still not the biggest fan of Onua, however will probably combined with the previous version to fix these issues
- Terak looks pretty cool
- Really like Onua’s normal mask, however his gold and trans mask does not have the same appeal.
- Combo model looks really messy and unappealing, will probably fix this via removing the rib torso pieces from his arms and removing Terak’s legs
Gali + Akida + Gali Akida Combo;
- Other than the orange, Gali has become one of my favourites of the new Toa
- Akida looks a mess, though seems good for a parts pack for MOC’ing underwater creatures
- Gold mask should have honestly been silver and trans-blue or at least an opposite of normal mask. It just does not work with the combo form
- Other than color gripes, the combo looks interesting and fairly unique
Lewa + Uxar + Lewa Uxar Combo;
- Lots of people hyping over this set, yet not seeing the appeal until recently. Looks sleek and good
- Nobbly knees will need to be fixed
- Both versions of the mask look good, though like Gali would have benefited from a silver and trans mask
- Uxar looks a bit of a mess
- Combo model seems a bit bland
Pohatu + Ketar + Pohatu Ketar Combo;
- Remove the boulder and Pohatu looks alright
- Build of Pohatu seems really basic…
- Ketar looks like a mess
- Combo looks like a mess
- Like Gali and Lewa, would have benefited from a silver and trans mask
Kopaka + Melum + Kopaka Melum Unity;
- Stud Eye…
- Kopaka does not feel like Kopaka, not sure why…
- Upper arms still look bad
- Leg storage is interesting, but would probably remove it
- Melum is essentially a color swapped Terak
- Just noticed that Melum (and maybe Terak) might have a bashing function (?)
- Combo looks a bit messy
Umarak + Uxar/Ikir/Terak combo;
- Has some gaps that would need fixing
- BLACK MASK! Seriously though, this mask looks amazing in black and trans-green
- Lower legs still seem iffy, hopefully will be fixed with ‘Destroyer’ in summer
- Bow looks over-sized for him…
- The only combo that works with him is the Uxar combo, remove the wings and creature mask and just have the black spikes and it’d look amazing
- Mask Of Control looks ‘ok’ though would have preferred the version from the animations. Not a fan of the overall curved nature, though i suppose its understandable given Lego has to be somewhat safe with pieces.
General observations;
- Creatures not having colored eyes is disappointing though easily fixable
- UMARAK HAS HIS BLACK MASK!!!
- Gali and Tahu are the only ones who have a combo mode that suites them
- Pohatu, Lewa and Gali should have all had a silver and trans mask instead of the gold and trans
- Torso piece is interesting… need to see the piece on its own before i can determine its usefulness
They all use the same connection, so anyone can combine with anyone. Even creature with creature, Toa with Toa or Toa with Umarak. Though admittedly that would look awkward…

One thing I noticed: It appears that my hunch was correct, and that the Creature masks aren’t really “masks,” but rather headpieces that attach like CCBS shells.

If this is an officially released version i’m confused as to why they removed Mata Nui;
- It shouldn’t have been a placeholder as it was replaced with noting,
if it was a placeholder they would have replaced it with Okoto - It wouldn’t have been added solely for the idea of a reference to G1 or they would have left it on the poster to cause speculation among fans
Granted Lego have done weirder things in the past, but something seems fishy… so small theory time.

I’m guessing someone revealed this poster a little early. The poster was likely originally intended to be the grand reveal that Mata Nui (Island) were to be included in G2… however someone forgot to remove it when doing the video. I’d guess that this poster was meant to be released after the events of ‘The Journey To One’ given its ‘movie poster’ style.
As such they removed Mata Nui from the officially released version and released this version early to distract fans from the original poster that had the Mata Nui island. In a few months we’ll see ‘The Journey To One’ and it could introduce Mata Nui (either a rebooted version or some sort of dimensions/time manipulation scenario)
Either way, i’m going with the ‘there is something up’ option.
While the attempt is appreciated, the scale is iffy… Pretty sure it would be smaller than that and chances are Umarak wont be able to wear the horns while wearing the mask of control.
I’d guess it is worn by someone in 2016 given the poster, though it probably wont be worn till Summer. Perhaps Umarak finds it at the end of the Winter Wave and puts it on and becomes ‘Umarak The Destroyer’

1: Terak and Melum have the same function as the 2015 Toa, only both arms move in unison.
2: you couldn’t possibly combine Toa with Toa or Creature with creature without much modification. The Toa don’t have a connection on their chest, and the creatures don’t have a connection on their back.

Though i think it could honestly look pretty interesting, especially with Uxar. Having him be a ton of wings with a spiked tail made-up of all the LoSS leg pieces.
