They shoulda stuck with the gold-hilted blades. 
Also they coulda just made those Metru-Blue shells Gold instead, and that woulda solved his colors problems completely.
Make his shoulder pads gold, his lower arms and his lower legs white, and all his chest printing gold.

In the grooves on his chestplate. It looks white, but if you zoom in on it it’s clearly lime green.
Interesting… Not sure I’d be ready to call that lime green, but certainly a cream compared to the white. I’d need to see this in person. Intriguing find regardless!

You know, when I first read that I thought “So you activate his arms by striking the tail forward, ehh not the best but it’s okay, at least you can make that tail strike by moving the arms and running the function in reverse”.
But no. The arms are activated by moving the tail SIDE TO SIDE. How did… how did they even manage to make it work that badly. That’s like… a new level of awkward design…
Hmm, you look to be right. Seems to me like it’s basically a replacement for this piece without the stud connector; could be useful!

Indeed it is. Must have been brought in for the crotch gear connection.
Anyway, I’ll give my actual opinions when set reviews come out, but I’m impressed (betcha didn’t expect that). Most of the combos bring out the best of the Toa and sometimes even adding an extra function.
Only real negative things I can list would be the flat backs (but thank goodness they arn’t gappy), the Technic shell being used as limb cover, and those tiny pins on Tahu’s legs being missed opportunity for limb cover and I suspect it was done to up the piece count. In other words, pretty trivial stuff.

K, so after looking at these for a while, and seeing most of the pics. I started dancing across the house, while chanting. I may or may not have torn out my shoulder.
BUT HOLY BEANS, THESE ARE AMAZING!
Notes:
I love Pohatu’s combined form. I dunno why, but it looks great. Gali looks great, everything is great. Kopaka’s mask looks very meh though. I wanted an epic mask from the kinda bland, baby cheeked 2015 mask, but this is not quite what I had in mind. And I kinda wish that Pohatu’s masks had larger cheek vents. BUT THAT DOES NOT MATTER, THEY ARE ALL AMAZING!

TBH I really like Tahu’s build, but I think, had his upper arms had black bones and red shells it would’ve balanced out his colors better, maybe red feet. Also I still hate those swords. So much.
