I don’t know why but behind UtD’s mask I see some kind of Kane-Ra/Muaka/Bahrag function. I could be wrong (and that would mean that there’s no function at all) but who knows.

I think it serves to both cover up his back in general but also as a place to attach those shells that cover up the side of his neck.
Main flaw of Bionicle’s appears to be that the masks can be knocked off. Maybe this is canon for the story also, and the back head coverage is to prevent his mask being knocked off.
Nah. It seems it’s only the head that moves while the jaw is connected to the neck.
Will have to wait for TTV’s coverage to be sure.

Ah yeah, will be interested seeing that also. Hopefully someone can interview a designer and ask why Umarak The Destroyer lacks a secondary mask, maybe convince them to throw in another mask or something…
I think it’ll probably be easy to mod it using the technic bending pieces that the Shadow Traps have, will probably end up using those so the jaw can be ratcheted a bit.

Tail moves left and right while the arms go up and down.

My guess is that, if you do something with the tail SB will make a clapping motion similar to melum.
That is incredibly similar to ketar
Do you guys think we will be able to build shadow traps out of the beasts? Kind of like umarak and his shoulder pads?
