I would certainly welcome a Bionicle mirco-world set. Locations like the Forge or the Mask shrines would be pretty neat. However I’m not sure I would buy regular system sets like those released in 2005-2007.
If they do them like Invasion from Below and the Characters are poseable and more imoportantly, recognizable, then this would be awesome…maybe we could have a Master Builder from such a line in the next Lego movie!
Any news on the 2016 sets yet? Cache pics? Server pics?? Anything???
Here’s my theory: the Toa have one mask next year, which turns gold when they combine with the creatures.
I’m pretty sure that’s what will happen, no mask hunt this year. Or ugh…maybe a mask hunt that the creatures are protecting and eh… I just don’t want to see another mask hunt.
here is my theory, the Toa have not changed their appearance… yet, until they have collected their new golden mask, which then transforms them into their new form that allowes them to combine with their creature.
yeah im not beliving in that theory ither
I have a feeling that they won’t so much be searching for their golden masks, but their masks will transform from their standard color to their golden version when they unite with their respective creatures.
maybe the reason the Toa would need to find the golden masks, would be so that they can Combine with the Creatures, i mean that could be the reason that they have golden masks, its not that the masks will enchant their elemental powers like the last ones, but more that they will allow the Toa to combine with the Creatures, like Masks of combination…
…ok, who else would love it if we at the (final) year (2017) would have it so that the Toa finely combined into their Toa Kaita forms to fight Makuta.
Wouldn’t it be great, though, if the '15 masks worked with the creatures?
I doubt that’s the case, but what if?
Don’t forget that the mask of time is likely going to play a huge part in next year’s line–something big is going to go down with Makuta next year!
Edit: In two years, I guess
The magazine spoke of Masks of Unity indeed. Probably the Toa will find the Creatures along with the Golden Masks… I think something like the Creatures will roam around the Masks… throne? I forgot the name. But basically Creatures would need the Golden Masks to identify their destined Toa.
If I can buy that tahu 2017 for 20 euro I won’t complain
ok so here is what i have been thinking on now, basicly its possible that Ekimu might have melted down the Toa’s original golden masks (or its possible that the Toa lost their original golden masks in some event that we might need to read the books to know of) and used them to create their new masks that looks different but are still have the power of the golden masks.
and then we have the masks of Unity, which would be a nice idea for new masks instead of telling us that the Toa needs to find a more powerfull version of their former golden masks, which at that point would just be stupid. I like it more that we get new masks, instead of redesigned versions of the old masks, which would make it fitting so that we can still use the masks from the last year, without knowing that those masks where the prior versions of the new and “improved” Masks of elements.

Pohatu’s here to rock your world.

I’m pretty depressed that this is the best box art picture I could find for Pohatu. Every other image is either too small or has problems with the site.

Build: Pohatu '16. The Uniter build has some interesting stuff going on. The custom upper limbs look pretty good from this angle, and I hope they still look as great in set form.
Style: Tie. I still get the wastelander vibes from both Pohatu’s, just in a different way. Uniter Pohatu goes for that spiky/torn armor look by using the Vorox piece and crystalline addon while his Master form goes for a more armored approach. I wish that his Uniter form had continued the asymmetrical look and developed his torn armor look more (the Skull Cloth addon would have been perfect here.)
Weapon: Pohatu '15. The boomerang and dagger combo really accent his survivalist vibe. The boulder spear does this too, but it’s a little odd in its design. I think it might have been better is it was split into two weapons.
Color: Pohatu '15. I welcome the addition of dark tan on Pohatu 2016, but his overall color distribution is way off. The Master color scheme may have a bit too much silver, but it looks a more consistent.
Mask: Pohatu '15. This one is probably the most subjective. Compared to the Master mask, the Uniter mask looks oddly…younger. Makes it look a little less fierce.
Both Pohatu’s are pretty much equal. I really can’t put one over the other. If I had to only have one in the infinite void it would be the Master version because the Uniter version simply requires more to change. Thankfully I don’t live next to LJ, so I’m picking up the Uniter version anyway.
I dont even have enough money to buy the first wave and you guys are buying them all, and even 2 of each, ah, harsh life
any way I love to guess how they are going to be built, so pohatu´s arm coming soon
and here they are
colors aside I think its pretty accurate
the piece I pointed is supossed to be this one

then how is the bohrok eye attached?
I still need to get the protectors and three sckull villains to complete the 2015 collection…but it’s a factt that I’m buying all the 2016 ones, at least the winter wave in day 1.
The light grey beam that the bohrok eye is attached to is different on the set. Instead of moving 3 modules up, it only goes 2. This is best seen on Pohatu in the poster.
Not sure. Looking at the poster, the arm on the right seems to match the mockup, but the one on the left doesn’t. Not sure if it’s just the angle or something else.
It can split
What does living next to Eljay have to do with this?
Huh.
So it can. The chain could stand to be a bit longer though.
Pohatu has gained +50 coolness
Void joke.
Considering that Tahu’s swords can combine to become a staff, I’d assume that some of the other Toa with staves can split them into two different weapons as well.
Edit: Oh, and Pohatu’s flail will probably detatch from the back of his right hand onto the brown extender piece that connects to the long black axle after detatching from spear form. If you’re having a hard time visualizing this, it’d be similar to Skull Warrior changing his spear to storage form.
Edit 2: I just now remembered back before the design leaks everyone was really into the idea of the Toa having spears because of the “hunting” and “tribal” theme. After that everyone went to the opposite side and wants unique weapons similar to 2015. Fickle much? At some point, some year, I want to come here and see a general concencus of contentment. I want to come here and hear in magnitude the words “I am content with these sets”. That’ll be the day.
Sure the sets are different and a bit polarizing, but they’re not bad. They’ve very good, and they successfully did something different than 2015. Is change really that bad…? It’s not like a Nuva change, in fact, it’s the first time BIONICLE has successfully contained the look of the previous versions of Toa while making them completely new.
The 2015 sets had just as many problems as the 2016 sets. They had exposed ball joints among other problems. The new sets fix those problems, but of course that means they’ll have their own that spawn from those changes. That’s just how it is. Look at what is good, and if you can, ignore what isn’t so great. Talking about a sets cons isn’t going to make you like it more, and it might make you like it less since continued negativity without any focus on the positive undermines your ability to form rational opinions, and the same ability of others, psychologically.
Stating pros and cons isn’t bad, but if you only state the negative rather than focusing on the positive and negative equally, then your view will be warped as such.
