never going to happen xd. and yes why did everybody go negative mode all of a sudden…
I really do hope we do not get a third wave of the Toa in a new form, two times are enough (especialy seeing how the Unity thing is important in this year and will just feel wasted and aweful if they droped it with a new model for the toa in 2017) i mean allow new characters to take the spotlight in 2017, let the toa keep an appearance, if they just change it like this, then people who are against Bionicle G2 will be right that its just Hero Factory in Bionicle skin.
I agree but if the Toa are going underwater or to space i’m fine with a third change
But I feel that Lego 'aint gonna drop their popular and much-loved batch of heroes for a while. Staying with one group characters for the long run allows newcomers to easily get into the theme…
Maybe there’ll be a flash forward in time where the Toa are old and have to call upon fresh new heroes like the protectors did.
But let’s be honest. That might not happen. These Toa are easily recognizable and I kinda want another variation. Like fully trans/gold/silver versions and they would be callled Mystic of insert element here (Mystika Reference FTW)! That’s what I want for 2017.
Back to 2016; I’m thinking the Toa will find both the creatures and their gold masks at the same time. Maybe the creatures will grant them to the Toa once they prove themselves worthy. Or it could be like a LOSS thing and they don’t appear. Or the masks change color once they unite. We don’t know yet
what i meant is that they could do what they did in the original G1 series where in they only introduced the Toa Nuva, and let there be other characters to be introduced like ither villains or new villagers like Jallar and Takua, that is some of the things that would make it better and allow LEGO to expand the lore of Bionicle G2, other than introducing just the Toa and some other main characters.
also, i keep to my theory that the Golden Masks are masks of unity, which means that they are suppost to be used to allow the Toa to unite with their creature (this might be a good reason why Umarak forcing a unification with the Creatures can be a bad thing)
I’m not sure if new characters are gonna be a thing… There’s only one prophecy, after all, and it makes no mention whatsoever of a second team of heroes.
That being said, I do agree that it’d be a very lame move for Lego to have them transform a second time… But if they pull it off, I won’t be too cross… I think >:c
Crackpot theory: In 2017, the Toa will get fused with their creatures, making them half-Toa, half-beast. G2 Hordika FTW!
I’d like one last form of the main Toa, one last hurrah. After that I hope a new team of protagonists (not necessarily Toa…) will be introduced.
We should probably get back on-topic before the mods show up
Edit: IMO a team with the dynamic of the Guardians of the Galaxy would be pretty neat.
@Dr_Chronos If we get some new protagonists they better be freaking Toa. I hated Bara Magna because it threw out every concept I loved about the franchise. Matoran race > Agori race. No one had a sense of duty, no one knew about the three virtues, and the world was too alien and devoid of the awesome things that made the MU likable. The Toa master race shall rise.
actualy i would prefer if we finely got some more named villagers, because you know having villagers that do more than cover in fear would be nice.
also i would like it if the Toa where to travel to a world like Bara Magna, more or less to show them how bad life can get or be for some people outside Okoto’s perfect style.
When you think about it, Bara Magna is a world where the people have learned that they must fight to survive and i can see the Toa facing some pretty interesting foes if they where to do that.
i mean… look at Umarak, he does kind of fit as a character from a place like Bara Magna if one where to alter him a little.
A third Toa transformation would be so lame. As I stated before I want 2017 to be like 2003. I’ve a little hope of this being real, since we are not getting an actual Makuta set in 2016. I really want 2017 to be the final battle, Makuta with MoUP vs Uniters, but if they want to reach him they must face his 6 guardians. A villain based year would be ■■■■■■.
The problem is that the Toa Nuva were released late 2002 rather than early in the year like the Uniters. I’m not %100 sure, but I think there were still Toa on the shelves for early 2003.
Again, some un-backed information gained from talking to ambassadors, the sales of 2003 were hurt by the lack of new Toa. However the concept of an Uber-Toa like Takuanuva really sold well with the kids.
Theoretically we’re getting an Uber-Toa this year in the form of Ekimu. He already fits the most telltale signs:
- Humble (well… relatively humble) beginnings.
- Color scheme includes Gold.
- Controls a powerful element, Creation in this case.
It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to see another Uber-like toa. The McGuffin when all is lost next year. Heck, Makuta might have the Uniters on the brink of death when someone of equal power rises at the last moment, and then the Toa fight with this new seventh savior.
Now, I’m not saying there should be a seventh Toa. It could be anyone. Even an Axonn-like entity. Maybe even Makuta himself, revealing that something else has been behind the mask(oUP) so to speak. That gives you two Makuta sets in one year(yay for protector Makuta that we don’t get this year even though we get the MoCo), with one not being the Makuta we thing he is… hint hint Teridax hint hint (Unlikely, but it’s a possiblity if the mask becomes or was sentient from the start)
Imagine if Makuta was actually the Turaga Dume equivalent of Okoto plot wise…
Edit: @Triple The only problem is that he’s already getting a second set. A third version wouldn’t be too special. It could very well happen though.
Edit 2: What if the whole reason they weren’t allowed to forge a mask from more than one element wasn’t because you’d create something too powerful, but because you’d unleash something powerful. Something thrown into time and space to be forgotten forever without any way of coming back to Okoto. The mask taking control of Makuta suggests nothing more than sentience. I mean, this is the guy who controlled things for a living, which is most likely why he thought he could create a mask like that and skip the repercussions. The elements have been shown to be linked to time in… albeit very vague ways.
I agree. The bionicle playsets and HF minifigs were kinda over the top IMO.
- There was barely any articulation for the BIO and HF minifigs.
- There were not any customization abilities with the Minifigs unlike the large sized action figs.
@Toa_Fjordisk The whole point of the playsets was playing through the story or scenario at a specific location of importance of the BIONICLE world, customizing the figures would make them no longer the characters they were which makes the playset canonically meaningless.
I can imagine what they’ll do is keep this team until 2017, with one last form change, for a battle with Makuta. Then, if Bionicle was successful enough, they’ll continue it with new characters taking the Toa’s place. Isn’t there some 3 year plan for Lego series…?

this is the difference of gold pieces in the tahu sets so far
[/quote]you know, looking at the side by side, they honestly don’t look that different, there really isn’t that much more gold on tahu aside from the legs.
What i mean is that LEGO should release new characters that are ither villagers or villains for the uniter toa to fight, not just a new form for the Toa that forces us to buy them a third time in a row.
What we all need to remember is that in g1 and in every lego series, the heroes always get new forms the next year. we got new forms of toa in every year except 2003, 2009 and 2010. But 2009 was introducing a mix of new singular characters that never got the chance to have new forms and 2010 was the stars. Ninjago, chima, galaxy squad, power miners, space police III, and more all had new versions of their characters every year to keep customers buying. Bionicle is no different with the exception of 2003 which was only made that way to pull a power rangers and introduce some Almighty new colored figure that was more powerful then anyone else
I never really liked the Bara Magna storyline because essentially it’s just gladiators fighting and no real story going on. I honestly had no idea what the 2009 story was about before the legends and all of a sudden they pop in Mata Nui to add story, and honestly it was just kinda spectating Mata Nui if he was a gladiator. Also, I never liked 2010.
