When I first read this my brain spazzed out and I spent a few seconds trying to figure out why you’d want Gaaki to be red.
But yeah, that’s a close second now that I think about it.
I mean I must assume they have templates for this already. Of course those must be slightly edited but the rest in that case is just copy paste at that point.
If they don’t however they are just highly ineffective with their time management. I’m still not really convinced that it would take more than a week to copy paste 37 topics that has been slightly individualized through what entries and what creator names are in which topic.

The only place you can use custom parts is for the mask and weapons.
And the 3d file has to be available for free download to print, which doesn’t seem possible for this example.
Well, the name is Pearl Dark Grey and since Pearl Light Grey replaced Flat Silver I consider Pearl Grey as “silver”, same as I consider Copper as gold, so I used Pearl Gold and Copper, which is basically like a darker gold (irl copper-gold alloy) so in a way I did 3:3 with 2 shades of gold to match Iruini and shades of silver to match Norik. One can also argue that Pearl Dark Grey is another alloy, or just silver with thin layer of sulphide.

I did not. I’ll consider doing it for future contests, though I had more of a vested interest in doing it for the Hagah.
They’re practically the same colour, and I doubt artists will distinguish between them anyway.
It’s not that Norik and Iruini are boring. It’s that there are so many N/I-like entries (i.e. ones that aim to look like official sets) that they all bleed into one. I’m hoping people won’t let that sway them towards voting for something complex that looks completely out of place with Norik and Iruini.
I highly doubt this split will be possible. If just one silver/flat gold Toa that lacks consent to colour changes wins, this is immediately off the table. Which is why anyone who wants this split should not vote for entries that don’t allow colour changes. Same argument, but to a lesser extent, applies for any other consistent split people want.
It took me half a week just to record all that data. Doing stuff like this takes a deceptively long time when you have a full-time job.
Edit: I just tried to make a pie chart of all the masks used and boy this looks pretty

Similar, yet different, though the differance is more sbtle than Flat Gold and Pearl gold. Or I’m just being OCD.

Yeah I can tell the difference pretty easily too. But I think Flat Silver was a replacement for Pearl Light Grey, in the same way that there’s an old and new gunmetal colour, so they’re kinda the same colour. I think if an artist actually recoloured a MOC from one variant to the other, it wouldn’t get flagged up as breaking the rules.
Same argument here. Stud.io renders tend to get colours wrong, so your Gaaki looks very close to pearl gold. And since you consented to colour changes, if someone did mistake it for pearl gold, it wouldn’t get flagged as rule-breaking.
Yeah, I know, that’s why it’s at the bottom of my list. I would prefer 2-2-2 or 3-3, but IF 6x1 is a possibility, that’s how I’d like to see it.
But yeah I’m definitely going to mainly vote for entries that allow color changes(CC), or fit into what I ultimately want anyway (so a silver Bomonga with no CC allowance is acceptable)

Except I stated in my topic that it is reddish gold and not pearl gold, pearl gold is a stand alone color in stud.io.

To clarify, I was talking about them being similar, not that one colour replaced the other. They are different if you put them next to each other (more so in person than digitally), but if your Gaaki won and there were no digital pearl gold winners, it’d be easy to assume yours is meant to be pearl gold (assuming artists were too lazy to read your post).

In all seriousness, it’s an understandable (and probably expected) way to vote. But a cool design in isolation doesn’t necessarily mean a cool design when put in a team. If all the winning designs are on par with Norik and Iruini, with standard armour and weapons, but there’s one that has giant custom shoulders and CCBS torso armour, it’s not going to look good. Which is why I’m going to play it especially safe with my voting preferences.

There is a clear enough difference that I don’t think people will mix them up, especially when I’ve clarified its reddish gold elsewhere. The only people who will be disappointed are the voters who voted for a pearl gold Gaaki and then that’s on them tbf
Impressive effort @Hazash! First of all, thanks for making these, they’re very interesting to read - out of curiosity, what is the non-3D “unknown” in Bomonga’s Mask Usage chart?
Since it could be hard to differentiate certain colors, especially in renders, maybe we should add a text in our photos. Not everybody is willing to read all the details in every entry, so maybe this could prevent confusions in case they only see the photo.
I know it’s a bit late to mention this, but I’ll leave it here just in case.
