you realize how much into the weeds that sounds, right?
you realize how much into the weeds that sounds, right?
Edit:
You know what?
I can see how my posting my Gaaki model could be seen as reviving the debate. It was kinda meant more as a joke and to say his point was a bit hyperbolic (as I then agree with his point in the very next line), but he does also reply to it, and even though I have no intention of replying in the interest of letting it die…
yes, I concede that you are correct
the Metru torso debate was kinda revived.
barely.
but I have no intention of continuing it.
And I apologize to Keks if it seemed like I was.
DM me with evidence of this
I’m not biting the bait past this point. You’re welcome to your opinion and me to mine.
Elsewhere I said after one ad hominem I back out. It’s been two here.
So no.
The metru horse is dead.
One thing I think we can all agree on: The Hagah contests (and the fiery debate over the definition of a Metru build) has started massive waves of (mostly digital) Metru MOCs pouring in from all directions. Hate on the canon contests if you want, but nothing in the last five years has generated this much specific activity since the end of G2.
But we do have a metru centaurs.
Centaur Pouks let’s go
@Eljay could we get an update on how the polls are coming along?
@Eljay could we get an update on how the polls are coming along?
My guy,
this stuff takes time.
2 weeks since the initial post in here about it. I’m certainly allowed to raise questios… can’t be the only one that thinks 14 days is a bit too long for this. Certainly don’t think I’m overstepping or anything
Let me set the record straight: I understand what you mean about voting for something because you feel it will give the vocal minority some sort of comeuppance. Maybe people are frustrated about the constant debating but are comparably quiet about their frustrations, and you’re acting on behalf of them - I guess when one debate is so loud, you don’t notice the people in the corner telling you to turn it down a notch. That’s fair.
My frustration with your arguments essentially boils down to the fact that you don’t make it clear when the humour starts and ends. Take stuff like this in isolation and it looks like you’re just trying to stir up trouble:
if it defies the standard metru build it has my vote
if it defies team cohesion it has my vote
if someone complains constantly about a certain element of a build not being ‘muh canon’ it will have my vote
let’s crush some head(canon)s boys
With context though, it makes sense.
I find it a shame that it’s come to the point where your voting preferences are being soured by the discourse here and aren’t solely based on what’s going to make Bionicle better. It still feels vengeful to me, in the same way that people voted for Hoseryx to protest the contests. But I see now that you’re at least not being malicious.
Just try to be clearer in future. Some of us (myself included) don’t pick up on subtext.
can’t be the only one that thinks 14 days is a bit too long for this.
Maybe not, but it’s a flawed thought, I’d say. Contrary to popular belief and whatever urban legends you may have heard, the admins have lives too. They can’t be blamed if polls for a contest for a decade-old LEGO theme aren’t their first priority in life.
can’t be the only one that thinks 14 days is a bit too long for this.
Eh, it’s definitely a bit long, but personal things happen with the ttv folks’ existence on a regular basis. Don’t worry, though - it’s pretty much impossible for them to forget about them.
Because this is where 90% of boards drama happens
Contrary to popular belief and whatever urban legends you may have heard, the admins have lives too.
Ok now that’s just too far
Implying any Bionicle fan has a life? Escort yourself to the nearest exit before I do it for you.
Not what I’m saying, of course people have lifes. I just wonder why its taking time. I don’t need to know if its done or when exactly it will be posted. I just want to know that work is still being done on it and it hasn’t gone up in smoke. I don’t think I’m being unreasonable in my question either. I never demanded they give me the polls now. I just wondered what the state of them were.
I don’t think I’m being impatient either, all I want to know is if theres been a hiccup or if things are moving smoothly but slowly. I’m not asking them to stop living their lives for a contest. Which is what you seem to be implying in your replies.
I don’t know how TTV prioritize their lives but being contest host just as much as anything else comes with responsibilities. They may not always need to be working on it constantly but by all accounts they should be able to answer questions about the delay or at least make sure to actually bother giving an update if they don’t want question especially when they use a wording like “in a day or two” and proceeds to take two weeks with not much of a briefing on what the delay is about.
I don’t think I was being unreasonable with my question and if you think that contest host shouldn’t take time to at least answer questions I think we are done here.
I just wonder why its taking time.
Because,
people have lives.
So what you are saying is I’m wrong to ask a question? Because that seems to be what you are taking issue with here. If I got that wrong thats on me but I’m allowed to ask them.
Edit:
To prevent circular argument I’m aware that the TTV members have lives. I’m not doubting that we all are homosapiens. I’m just asking a question and is being treated like I’m dumb or impatient which I can’t stand for
I’m allowed to ask them.
I mean … I guess you are, yeah. What I’m saying is, you shouldn’t. If nothing else than because it’s good to be patient, but also because the admins have done -so- much work on these contests, suffering through truckloads of drama and negativity, and we’ve done very little to repay them.
The least we can do is be patient. And definitely not do the opposite of that by pestering them about it, which I’m not saying you’re doing, but I feel like from the admins’ perspective you could be getting close.
They’re not just going to drop the ball completely and leave us high and dry, and that knowledge should be enough.
Just want to point out that the last poll topic took four days to go live.
This one is liable to take four times as long, because it is litearlly four times the amount of polls - and that’s not counting how they handle stuff like change permissions.
I wouldn’t expect to see the polls until at least five minutes from now, maybe longer
which I’m not saying you’re doing
Yet…
The least we can do is be patient.
You continue to imply I’m being impatient
The metru horse is dead. Beating it won’t bring it back.
what if I beat it with the Kanohi Ignika. ![]()
Nah better use the Tryna. We don’t want you to die just to beat the horse again.
Or I use a Kanohi Mohtrk and summon my past Cronks and past horses that were alive to all beat said horses to death simultaneously.
Or you just don’t
