I’m more of a fan of a smoother, more spectral-like MoI but would be ok with Galva’s winning.
As for the Gunmetal, usually if a Toa has an armor color that isn’t one of the Matorans colors, there’s usually a reason (Mutation, Hagah Armor). Sometimes we got new colors, like Lhikan showing us that Ta-Matoran can have Gold Armor but it’s the same argument as we had with Chiaria. Should we allow colors not seen in standard Toa of an element? Lhikan suggests so, but from the discussion above, it doesn’t seem to be the case.
My guess is that since Lhikan has gold armor, and a lot of people imagined Nidhiki to be Iruini but with silver armor, it made sense for Tuyet to have gunmetal armor.
The trifecta of bionicle metallic colors
My ideal MoI would be a mix between KhingK’s and the two Galva versions. I’m hoping that I can model a new design, or contact someone else to make it for me.
I’ve been thinking about designing and modeling one based on this idea (since it is the mask of intangibility, not just tuyet’s mask), but I haven’t started yet. I need to do some sketching
Oh so people some people are doing a Hagah thing. Personally, I’d like it if only one of the winning Mangai has Metallics, to set the group apart from the Hagah. Gunmetal though looks too evil for my liking for Tuyet but thats just me.
I may or may not enter the Tuyet contest mainly because I don’t really care or have any deeper connection to the character unlike the Hagah but this is what I got so far.
My only thing about Gunmetal is it’s used with the Dark color scheme, spikes and red eyes. Pouks and Jovan look fine since they don’t scream “I’m evil” at you with their designs. It’s why a Tuyet who looks evil off the bat doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like if Palpatine looked like Darth Sidious all the time in the prequels. No one would’ve trusted him, let alone think he’s a good guy.
I think of the super evil Tuyet MOCs I saw.
even though the dark blue is quite dull color, many people use both gunmetal and red eye.
maybe It makes her look like a too bad person.
Think about Hahli, she is based on dark blue, but set designer used white and lime color to prevent her from becoming too dull.
Known natural metallic color schemes belong to Fe-Matoran and Ce-Matoran. Any other with silvers, golds and else are probably using armor through mutations by the Ignika like the Toa Mahri or by a destined bath of energized protodermis like the Toa Nuva, by being rebuilt by Karzahni with bits and scraps, for being part of the elite Toa Hagah groups, etc.
By looking at the combo model i noticed that Jovan’s color scheme is primarily Gunmetal, while secondarily having a balanced combination of Black and Light Gray.
Here are some models i found on the internet compared to Jovan’s official version due to being restricted with the colors of 3 existing characters (Hahli, Nuparu and Hewkii)
