Funny, I was just saying when the Makuta contest was announced that it would be interesting if that was the sign of the end. Because G2 started with a villain contest, the irony in it ending with a villain contest.
Sums up G2 pretty well. A villain from beginning to end.

The handling of the reboot has been piss-poor from day one. There was virtually no story. We didn’t get to properly see even the Makuta origin story until the later graphic novels, just a watered down version in the animations.
All the mythos and foreboding nature of the toa from 2001 was dropped in favour of a rather generic good vs evil approach, the adds were cheesy and dull, journey to one should have started in 2015.
It’s honestly hard to think of anything outside of the sets that was done right. the sets were great, and I still maintain that the detailed Bionicle aesthetic that was surfacing in the 2016 sets is far nicer than general ccbs shells, but they weren’t properly supported by any sort of publicity. Lego brought this failure on themselves. -_-
I just hope the next constraction line is good, and not some dumb licensed line.

However, just because Bionicle has ended, doesn’t mean we still can’t watch the show or buy the toys and books. We should still support what is left of the line. If you don’t have any of the new sets, you should still get them.

Though I’m sad the twist I was hoping for didn’t happen. That this iteration of Bionicle was a TV show that the Heroes of HF watched. It would have been hilarious.

I can agree with this, actually.
Fan input didn’t help either, but Lego made a lot of poor choices and it ultimately lead to it’s demise. ESPECIALLY with the picture-taking contest. (I’m fine with big MOCs winning, but a picture of a trash can winning? #AWholeLotOfNope!)
(Although I did rather like G2’s story, but we all have different opinions.)

Actually, it’s kind of weird to think, if Lego made new constraction line, what would it be?
I mean, Bionicle was such a weird, unique idea to begin with. If they made a new line, it would probably be more along the lines f HF. I just can’t see that they would make another Bionicle-esque line.
