Hey all! You might be familiar with my previous rendition of Toa Tuyet (or not), but I now present to you the final build as my entry into the DuckBricks Fanon Contest. After the tragic cancellation of the TTV canon contests and Greg’s layoff from LEGO, I’m incredibly happy to see that this concept has been revived by DuckBricks and the rest of the BIONICLE community.
The goal with my Tuyet was to create a build with a similar silhoutte to that of the Metru Toa (Lhikan, Vakama, etc), but also one that differed slightly due to her being from the island where the Nui Stone resided. Thus, I used pieces that either looked similar or could function in the same way as the ones found in a 2004 Toa set.
The color scheme came about due to an oversaturation of blue/dark blue and blue/silver Tuyet MOCs on the Internet, so I opted for something that would stand out more from the rest of the crowd. I thought a Toa of water with black as her primary color would look interesting, which also helps the Mata blue pop and create some excellent contrast. For her brainstalk and heartlight, I chose neon green in contrast to the usual red because even though she went rogue, Tuyet is a Toa after all and should give off a heroic vibe.
Regarding her barbed broadsword, I’d built two other iterations before settling on this version: one using a Bordakh staff, and another that used Technic hinge pieces to create the frame of a sword. I’ve always thought that Kopaka’s glider wings could make a cool weapon, and so I built this broadsword to use with another MOC. However, since the wing pieces have a few points sticking out that look like barbs, I figured I could use it for my Tuyet instead.

The mask is KingK’s Great Mask of Intangibililty, which can be downloaded via The KingK Pack linked here. You can also buy a 3D printed copy from their Shapeways shop “Forge of the Mask Makers”, and from DuckBrick’s online shop.
Thanks for checking out my entry, and good luck to everyone participating in the contest!
