Cusp of a New Era: Stories of a Changing Time(RP Topic)

Moenir smiles,
“It’s a really big help… us’ vuatuhoi [Thank you].”

Blud heads back up and over to Jen,
“You’ve been on the wheel for a bit, I’ll take over, take command of our boys.”

Sarah nods and keeps an eye out as the ship approaches. “Almost there…” She mutters.

Back in Kenasa, Hans wakes up from his short nap. He decides to take a walk around the city to try and familiarize himself with the layout.

Moenir points the cannon at the ship, the crew-member near him, ready with a torch. They were waiting for Sarah’s call. Several other pirates could be seen in a similar pairs, one aiming the cannon, and one with the torch.

As the ship neared, Sarah raised her hand. In a second, she drops it. “Now!”

The crewman lit the fuse and after a second of silence, the cannonballs exploded from the barrel, tormenting through the air, aimed at the Nikidian ship. Moenir and the crewman, then went preparing for the next volley.

The hull took a few hits from the cannons and within a moment started firing off their own.

Blud turns the wheel violently, causing the ship to spin, those on deck readied the sails, once they stopped, now facing the opposite direction that they were previously facing. The hull of the ship, near the front was hit, and damaged, which made it heavier as water seeped in. The port side of the ship, which previously loaded their cannons, though did not fire, since they could not see the ship, launched their volley of projectiles on the ship. Moenir and the pirates on the starboard side, prepped their cannons quickly, as to be ready to fire whenever.

The Nikidian ship steered sharply around as well as their other side fired, the hull being hit at taking in more water.

Sarah looked around. “Now how do we get water out?” She asked loudly.

Moenir calls out,
“Get a few pails (large buckets) and a few hands, there’s not much of a better solution.”
His side was now ready to fire, and Blud spun the ship again, taking advantage of the extra weight at the front of the hull, caused by the seeping water, for a sharper turn.

Sarah nods and gets a pail, throwing as much water as she could out.

The ship swerved and started heading towards the ship again, a cannonball hitting the front and another scraping the side.

Blud takes his Moonlit Knife closer before swinging the starboard side to face the Nikidian ship. Moenir calls the command and the volley fires at the Nikidian ship.
Jen commands the port side to finish reloading, before he left to help Sarah.

A few more hit the ship, but it continues forwards, getting as close as they could before turning sideways again, firing at the close range. On deck, people seemed to be preparing planks.

Blud calls to those on deck,
“BE PREPARED WITH YA’ CUTLASS! PORT BE READY TO FIRE AT ANY TIME!”
Jen grins, he knew this tactic, they were going to sail past the Nikidian ship and send a volley at point blank. He drops his pail and grabs his cutlass, then goes to Moenir to ready his own weapons. A crossbow was going to be useful, where most pistols couldn’t be used in the mist. Moenir loads his crossbow and climbs the center mast, onto the crow’s nest. Those from the starboard side went to empty the seeping water, and started a quick repair with pitch. They filled the small holes with pitch and nailed a few boards to the bigger hole, and used pitch to fill those cracks.

Lillan maneuvered his boat behind the Nikidian ship, just out of sight of the enemy sailors. He stepped up to the prow of his boat and stuck a dagger into the wood of the ship, before tying a rope to the hilt and tying that to his own mast.
Then, he grabbed his own, gleaming dagger and clambered up his mast, before leaping onto the enemy boat.

Ryko watched the Nikidians warily, before quickly throwing a handful of brightly colored vials at the enemy ship. The vials spread through the air as they flew.

Not owning a cutlass, Sarah grabbed her swordbreakers and ran out to face them.

The Nikidians threw boards across the deck to try and give them a path to boards, while trying to fire at the distance as well, having had time to reload in their cruise over.

Lillan hid behind a crate on the [wherever the steering wheel is]. He looked for any enemies, dagger held in hand.

The vials landed on the Nikidian ship and shattered, sending pink acid across the wood. The acid would begin to eat up the wood very quickly.

Sailors would break off the parts being eaten away and throw them at the other ship.

A sailor would see Lillian and draw his blade, going in to fight him.

The Moonlit Knife didn’t stop as it sailed past. Those on the port side unleashed the volley they had into the Nikidian ship as they ship went by them. Moenir shot a bolt at a Nikidian Soldier, trying to cross over, with his crossbow. The men on the deck would attack anyone who dared to cross over.

Lillan stood up, holding his knife in front of him.
“-wait! I don’t want to fight!” He lied.

The Nikidian ship kept up alongside and did the same, fighting the crew on the planks. A few got over to the deck.

Sarah encountered one of the Nikidian sailors and engaged, trying to catch the blade in the grooves in hers.

“Still a stowaway.” The Nikidian said to him, pointing his blade at him.
