So I had a quick question.

The panel’s on the wall and the trapdoor hatch is in the ceiling. If Alexis is still on Eve’s hands she can only touch the hatch, and if she’s not she can only touch the panel.

Please specify. I REALLY want it to be one in particular but I can’t tell you

i could correct, but your idea of what’s taking place is ten times funnier, so i won’t.

I understand that this is both the future and potentially a dream world, but if the panel was a biometric device, it doesn’t match the description of one. Being too small, no clarifications as to materials it was made of, and, quite frankly, failing to operate like one. Because those devices are incredibly dumb, just like touchscreens, and a goldfish could open one by touching it.

Because its physical description was unreliable, I was waiting for the puzzle to be placing all the light sources on some weird pressure plates and angling their directed light to bounce around and hit the panel at this point.

You’re totally right. I would have been completely fine with Malaco’s, um… Lips activating the device and the party moving on about two months sooner. However, I was given specific instructions for how the puzzle was intended to operate and boundaries to operate inside of, so the puzzle you got was the only solution possible.

There’s a limited amount of info I’ve been allowed to run with, which means I can only GM this for a certain period of time. After that, me and my definitely real son are going to have a talk.

Thank you for moving along everyone.
Finally.

Has someone approved my character yet?

Winger has been hung up yet again by some rather serious circumstances irl. When he’s able to get to looking at your profile, he will.

Hope he’s alright.

popping back in to say good characterization there with Eve, it’s going to be interesting how she handles things occurring later on.

I owe everyone here an apology.

But first, context.

In the past months, a lot has gone down. Lots of cramming and pushing for my studies, several really important tests and applications, the contraction of cancer by a family member with the subsequent cross-globe travel of one of my parents, and worst of all, the passing of a very close family member after a prolonged struggle with terminal illness. Not to mention other issues that it probably isn’t best to discuss in this setting. None of that is in any particular order.

And I’ve used that as an excuse, for letting this go to heck.

But despite all of it, none of it honestly is an excuse, for letting this decline. Time can be found for things like this. Despite doubts you may have, I do deeply wish to successfully run this RP. I don’t know if it was utter storytellers’ block, or creative strain, or raw laziness, or what, but I just let things … tank, and I think I’ve done irreparable damage to the game because of it. And for that, I apologize. Sincerely.

There are a couple things discuss now, about the RP as it stands.

The irreparable damage.

You are welcome to leave. I don’t mean that in a caustic way. So far, the game itself has … sucked. And if a game sucks, it’s the GM’s fault. And don’t get me wrong, the roleplaying has been phenomenal; undeservedly good, for the standard. It’s just … been the only thing, keeping it going.

So if you want out, you’re good to go. Every player here has every right to. That’s what comes with poor GMing. There are zero hard feelings about any of it from me.

Otherwise, here is what’s next.

Enjoyment in the game is … low, right now. I’m not blind. I understand that. Ghid and I are going to change the way we collaborate. He’ll be more involved in the planning and still maintain his role as a player. Oversight from him should hopefully avoid any more six month-long door puzzles. The plan is and always has been a crazy story that gets crazier. We’re revising the means of execution.

I know there were previous complaints brought up by some players, about expectations. I’d like to request that, with the assumption that they still stand, someone could restate them for me, so that I can work on clarifying.

Finally, @MakutaOisli, I’ve seen your character and will get back to you on it by the end of the week, likely in PM form.

Thanks.

Then with that option, I’ll take my leave.

After Sovereign, I thought Ghid could prevent such a thing happening again. I was very wrong. Words are nice, but I operate on actions and I’ve read too many posts of Ghid saying he’ll chat with you only for no change. Even with extra help, I don’t believe you can maintain the will to keep up with the activity necessary of a GM.

Oh my goodness dude, all that must be so hard. I’m sorry you’re going through that, but there’s no need to apologize for life being rough. Hope things go well for you
