mine would be… Sauron! because he is a powerful but idiotic (, because he tied his life force to a ring.) warlord.

I did. I don’t agree with it. The premise of Watchmen is that everyone is flawed, and we’re all very complex characters inside. The Comedian does the right thing for the wrong reason, and Ozymandias does the wrong thing for the right reason. His reasoning does make him justified (in my mind), but he is very much still the villain of the story. Just because he thinks he does it for the greater good doesn’t lessen that - in the same way that Doctor Doom isn’t any less of a villain even though he saved everybody in Secret Wars.

Sauron from Lord of the Rings. He’s just evil, not one of those “Sympathetic Villains” with tragic backstories, that are all such a bore. He wants power, and he’ll do anything to get it.
