OOC: The Spartans are not able to hear this, they’re all preparing for the Warzone simulation. Only people hearing this are the alien races.
Leo grabs his assault rifle and begins checking it.
“Man, I can’t wait to switch this out for my SMG. This thing fires too slowly for my use. I’d rather just fist fight the enemy over shooting them with this, but oh well.”
He puts it on his back and grabs his helmet.
“So how many more members are we missing before this match starts?”
“Just one,” Sky says looking at her list. OOC: @FreeLanceVelika
Cabis vul stood up a bit surprised by that answer “now what is the gravity of the situation i dont like being kept in the dark”
“UNSC executes us all for high treason. Of course, I trust in our Spartans to win.” Jasper answered.
“So you recklessly gamble with our lives!?” Irzon said, outraged.
“Unless you have faith in the Spartan Foxtrots, yes.” Jasper clarified. This shut Irzon up, as he wanted to believe in Sky.
“Hey you guys! Sorry I had to go to a anniversary.” Shouted Rebecca waving at Sky and her companions.
“Hello!” Raptor said to the newcomer, before turning to grab his helmet.
“Right in the nick of time.” Sky.said before tapping a on a panel and speaking into it. “Foxtrot Branch, ready.” She said, and before them, twelve pods opened up, their means of entering the match mentally, as it was all simulated. As Sky stepped into her pod first, she felt the machine clamp her arms and legs before she finally saw her now blue armored self on the inside of a moving Pelican. Soon, three other members of her team, including Grace sat with her in the moving vehicle.
“Hello folks! My name is Lavernius Tucker and this is my pal Simmons. Today we’re bringing you the BIGGEST War Games Simulation on the UNSC Infinity! The Outer Colony Spartan IV Foxtrots lead by Sky 5839 on the Blue Team vs. The Inner Colony Spartan IVs lead by Sarah Palmer on Red Team! Simmons, can you explain the rules for me before this cat fight begins?” The commentator’s voice blared over the Warzone match as the teams readied themselves to enter the simulation.
“This match is something new the techs have been developing for months. Because of the more difficult simulation, 2000 VP are needed to win, VP being earned on killing enemy Spartans and mini bosses, all 2000 awarded on destruction of the enemy base. Many Covenant threats have been simulated on this new map, Raid on Apex 7. Raid on Apex 7 features many aspects of the previously created Escape From A.R.C. The Garage building has been replaced by the Spire point. Simulated attackers will constantly be trying to take the Spire back after your team does so.” As Simmons explained, monitors showed diagrams to the spectators.
“Basically, you’ll all be up to your knees in killer aliens!” Tucker cheered.
“This will also make it extremely difficult to eliminate bosses.” Simmons spoke up. “Another thing is REQ levels. The first few will be easy to achieve, but as it raises, more REQ experience points are needed from killing enemy Spartans or simulated attackers. Vehicle kills get you extra experience.”
“So, who’s ready for a beautiful Warzone Simulation?!” Tucker shouted over the mic, followed by enthusiastic cheering. All of the aliens and humans watched curiously on their monitors as the simulation started, and Pelicans soared across the screen, approaching a tropical island on one of the Halo rings.
Irzon crossed his arms, paying close attention to the Foxtrot side. A large spire, presumably the one Simmons mentioned as a capture point, was visible over the hills.
“The Covenant have breached our defenses and our base is in lockdown.” Sarah Palmer had done the audio for the simulation, annoying Sky a bit that they had to essentially take orders from their rival.
“Everyone, stay on your toes and mobile. I’ve done Warzone before, these Covenant won’t hesitate, or miss, like the others.” Sky spoke up as the Pelicans dropped them off. She wasn’t surprised by the Elites, Grunts, or Jackals, but the bulbous Covenant Wraith before her, that would have cut down the entire Pelican’s squad immediately had they not advanced to the rocks scattered on the beach. Twin untouched mongooses had been on either side of the base
“Whoa! That Wraith just killed four of Palmer’s Spartans on landing!” Tucker shouted, commentating on the match. Sure they had died, but only temporarily before they’d respawn.
“Is this too much for them, do you think? They all only have paper-thin shielding, assault rifles, magnums, and one grenade each.” Simmons commented.
“Hey, they’re Spartans, not Marines. These guys wouldn’t take anything less in the field.” Tucker argued.
“Listen to the commentators, they’re leaking info on the other team.” Sky advised. Little did she know, the announcers could hear her as well.
“You know it, babe!” Tucker said. It wasn’t unlike him to be after any female that was unfortunate enough to cross his path. Sky cursed and her focus went back to her teammates, pinned by the Wraith’s plasma turret’s constant barrages.
“Grenades, all of them, on the Wraith. Don’t throw if you’ll miss.” Sky said as Storm Rifle blasts riddled the rocks beside her. The Elites were getting closer, being simulations, not cautious soldiers.
Lobster passed his grenade to Santiago, after he had made one successful lob.
“At least I can’t get blamed this way” He said in a surprisingly calm voice for the situation “Whadda say about jumpin’ on one of those mongooses?”
“This is just a simulation, I think you can cover your own back today” Replied Santiago, tossing Lobster’s grenade at the alien tank.
Lobster moves in and out of cover to the Mongoose, but as he’s about to get to it, Fireteam Toxic’s Spartans drive off with it. An Elite spots him and brings his Storm Rifle to level with the Spartan Foxtrot
“I have more then a bit of knowledge on hijacking vehicles. Maybe taking the Wraith would be a better idea?” Raptor asked.
“Noted. Everyone, focus on the infantry and cover Raptor!” Sky orders as she notices Lobster off to the far left being faced with an Elite. Grabbing her pistol she hammers away at the alien’s shield from a distance.
Grace effectively eliminated several of the Jackals in the way of Raptor and the Wraith, but two Elites, as well as several Grunts kept her position burdened by plasma
Lobster took a split second too long in deciding whether he would attempt to rush the elite or dash backwards for cover. His body crumpled onto the sand, Lobster viewing the assault on the beach from the air. He sighed.
OOC: This is remarkably similar to how I actually play warzone…
“Looks like the Blue team’s off to an equally rough start this match.” Tucker observed.
“I admire their strategy to take the Mongoose, though.” Simmons said unironically.
“Palmer’s going in to plant the explosive on the Wraith, and- BOOM! An explosive lead for the Red Team as they are now on to clearing the rest of the Covenant.” Tucker exclaimed.
“Come on, Raptor, we needed that Wraith yesterday!” Sky commanded, avenging Lobster
Raptor quickly jumped from his position. After hitting the ground he proceeded to sprint his way to the tank. jumping on the side and shooting the turret driver. The tank pilot opened the cockpit as it tried to attack Raptor with a plama rifle. It was met with a swift kick to the face as Raptor jumped inside. Closing the cockpit, he grabbed the controls and smiled.
“Alright you digital freaks, prepare to meet your maker” He said to himself as he plastered the previous pilot.
**OOC:**How long should I wait on Lobster’s respawn?
Santiago sighed at Lobster’s foolishness, and what would happen when he got dropped back into the simulation. Although he did have half a smile underneath his helmet, admiring the bravery of Raptor.
OOC: @EvilLobsterKing I’d just wait inbetween posts. As long as you’re not double posting, you can respawn whenever.
“Move up! Move up!” Sky said, after watching Raptor’s display of taking the Wraith go incredibly well. “Don’t let these guys scare you anymore, we have a tank!”
“Tank beats everything, right?” Grace said.
“Oh, man, Simmons, did you see that? The Foxtrot IVs have taken the Wraith! Bet you didn’t see that coming! Who’s that one? RPTR? Living legend down there, picking up chicks in a tank.” Tucker said in awe, the scene reminding him of his days in Blood Gulch outpost Alpha.
Leo runs up behind them.
“Which way is our first objective? I’ll make my way over.”
“Lets go”
Santiago moved up, pistol ready, shadowing the wraith, using the tank as cover, aiming shots at the heads of the remaining covenant.
A great roar was let out behind the blue team Spartans on the beach, as Lobster re-appeared, ankles in the water.
The red Spartan ran up the beach, firmly planting a power armoured fist in the jaw of the alien who killed him, he was too enraged to notice the incredible detail of the programme, but he definitely felt the simulated bones crunching as the elite dropped. His assault rifle raining hot revenge on the aliens around him, as he let out another horrible yell.
Raptor proceeded to slam the accelerator, slamming into a squad of Grunts before slowing down and blasting at a group of Elites. He then swerved into a few more, crushing them under the tank. A Elite began to crawl up the side of the tank, causing Raptor to draw his magnum, opening the cockpit and shooting the Elite in the head.
“Sorry about your brains, but they made a really good target” .
