It’s not so farfetched that they’re simply reusing the alphabet they had from G1.
(Someone should to try to translating the pedestal and see if it says anything)

Alright, here it is,
Using the first alphabet we got, from left to right we have:
L T J I U S F
(Keep in mind that this is based on my interpretation of the symbols and what they are similar to).
Using the graphic novel alphabet, I interpreted:
K J (third does not have a relateable letter) T U S (last does not have a relateable letter)
This is the image I used to base my findings on:
The red crossed-out area is what I was unable to interpret into symbols.
So we have what looks to be:
#1: L T J I U S F
#2: K J T U S
If you rearrange #1, you can form the word “JUST” with L I & F remaining.
If you rearrange #2 you can also form the word “JUST” with K remaining.
The remaining letters of #1 almost spell “LIFE,” it is just missing an E.
This translation and unscrambling session probably means nothing and does not further my point.
It’s also worth noting that their are two Okotoan alphabets: this one, and the one in the GN.
Now, the question to be asked is: why do these people need two alphabets? Unless… one of them is from another world?
Maybe there is some connection here after all…

Graphic Novel.
The Graphic Novel had a different alphabet from this one (including the letters for it in our alphabet)
Oh, I see. I will translate it through both then. Thanks.
He-he translate.
I suspect that it was a sort of prototype. Especially since it seems that The Mask of Light story line reflects the earlier form of what Lego wanted Bionicle to be. G2 is meant to be a call back to a lot of their earlier ideas. In my opinion anyway.
@GIF.Man.Ben Haha, I wish.
Edited for Double Post - Waj
Looks more to me like some kind of Nuva Symbols, and considering the Toa Nuva are featured in MoL I wouldn’t be surprised if they were there just because the asset developers thought it would be interesting to throw some in.
Looks more like generic Bionicle gibberish to me, the same kind we got on the masks of control and creation. We know they’ve had that language being used on concept art since as early as LoMN, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they used it here to add random detail. This is the current Okoto alphabet
Yes, I know, hence the cipher for the current alphabet in this very post. There isn’t a cipher for the blocky letters that appear on the pedastal. In case you will all thinking the actual okoto alphabet was on the picture, here’s a better one.
So yes we have a cipher, but we dont have a cipher for this language, only the newer okoto language. I was fully aware the newer Okoto language had a cipher in the books, hence the image of the cipher in my post.
Uh, what are you talking about?
There is a cipher in the Graphic Novel.

Just to point out, the “X” should be swapped with the “Y” symbol, cause the symbols as they are really do not look like the actual letters. At least the others do, but those dont.
This been bugging me for months now.
Guess What I found in the month of jungle poster?
letters. they seem similar to the matoran language.
But Cubes.
DISCUSS.
Could you link said poster?
It translates to
'E WAS HERE"
From Ekimu’s days as a juvenile delinquent.
Ehrye was there…there was a magazine page that I can’t find at the moment which had the profiles of all the Vahki like wanted posters, and on the corner, graffiti scribbled out “Ehrye was here”
I’m gonna try to find that.
If you have the Papercutz Graphic Novel with the 2004 comics, it’s in there…ironically enough, the graffiti is written with our alphabet, not the Matoran one…
Found it at my local library and found that H20 for life was also written there. Probably from a ga-metru matoran.
EDIT: I made a chart of all the markings.
Also if it’s a lighter color that means it refers to a character.
