How Does One Say "BIONICLE"? (The Pronunciation Topic)

I’ve always pronounced Onua and Onewa the exact same.
Oh-New-Uh

@Eljay @Kahi I recently listened to the TTV podcast 184 and heard the argument that went on between eljay and kahi on how to pronounce lewa. A book was released in 2003 BEFORE the mask of light came out called “THE OFFICIAL guide to BIONICLE” written by Greg Farshtey. This book contains pronunciations of every set that came out from 2001 to 2003, including lewa’s.

The proper pronunciation is LAY-WAH not LEE-WAH. Eljay, the point you’ve been arguing for so long has been wrong. I’ve had this book for years and i was always too lazy to post a picture of it on the message boards. At least i got to hear some fun arguments on the podcast!

@Political_Slime is this the book you had?

I always pronounced Vezon as VEH-ZON instead of VAY-ZON until I read the way his name was pronounced on the Bionicle wiki many years after '06. Same thing applies to Vezok.

Okotan is better.

I called them VEE-zok/zon

I also used to call Hakann “HACK - can”

Bohrok: BOR-ock
Ehyre: ee-HER-yee
Kane Ra: CANE-ra
Rockoh T3: Rotock T3

I am in the lee-wah camp.

Inika/Ignika: In-ike-ah/Ig-nike-ah
Ehlek: Eel-eck

I used to have trouble with Onewa/Onua and thought Phantoka was Pantoka

I say “Lee-wa”.

I suppose I put more empahasis in the “ig” in IG-nee-ka, and more emphasis in the “ni” in i-NEE-ka.

I pronounce Matao Maw-tow. Not sure if that’s different, but I say it that way.

I say:
Lee-wuh (although sometimes lay-wuh)
Nid-hick-ee
Ee-nike-uh
Ig-neek-uh
Jall-er (I refuse to say jah-luh)
Muh-tore-oh
Eh-ree
Eel-eck
Eye-runi
I think I used to say Bah-rock

I never knew exactly how it “Antroz” is pronunced

I always say “An” as in “an apple” and then “Troz” rhyming with “flaws”.

I have a bad habit of calling him “Antronz”

…I have no idea why. It’s just a thing.
