HowTo: MOC Tutorials

Here is a sword with a simple hilt made of two ninjago shoulderpads with scabbards. The element designer made the scabbard center large enough to accept technic axles.

For anyone needing new parts in stud.io or have trouble installing them, something that helps is downloading a model with said parts. Afterwards, you can copy-paste the new part from the imported model and use it for mocs. It worked with the Artakha model and that one hagah entry that had kingdom armor shells.

good gravy how are you not a lego set designer already

I’ve gotten this question from various people in my personal life. I always say “I don’t want my hobby to become work”. Plus most of my designs wouldn’t be considered “legal” or “stable” enough for official sets.

well i was sort of joking. sorry if you took offense!

No offense taken.

… yep. The expectation very often is “if your job is doing something you love, then you should be happy”, but that’s not how it is. When something you love to do becomes something you have to do, it often no longer is something you love to do.

Not saying doesn’t always work out for some people; I know people who have a talent they’ve honed their entire life, and are now in a field around that talent, but it’s a little different for hobbies like LEGO, or art.

wait, how did I get here?

Oooh could you put a translucent round plate on backwards where the neckhole is? Could help fill the space a little.

Fun design!

I think you could, although I don’t believe it’d hold together very well. Those shoulder pad pieces are made of much softer plastic, and the neckhole itself has very rounded edges.

You could just change the color of bushing or 1L liftarm. I think the 1x1 round plate would fall out.

Does anyone know how to build hordika masks as thigh armor? If it works with Whenua’s mask then that would be perfect

ooh is that gonna be orde

Yeah it is. His design is meant to be an opposition to Helryx’s design language, since both are opposite genders.

I sadly can’t say if it would work with Whenua’s mask cus there isn’t a version of it in Studio yet but it works with Vakama’s mask so it should work.

I’d say that hordika thigh armor may be a bit large for him

If that’s the case then do you have any suggestions that have a similar feel?

The armour pieces that you used for the shoulders should work well, not as bulky, similar shape and feel though and it would keep the design consistent.
