"Makuta Building Contest" W.I.P.s and Finished Creations Topic

Not sure what it is that you don’t understand, so I’ll explain all of them:
To fix the waist:
move this part down two spaces so that it covers the torso piece’s middle balljoint. Then, to compensate for the fact that there’s now less room, replace the arm pieces that you are using to connect the aforementioned part to the actual legs with two smaller structures (per side) built using one each of the following parts: the generic hand piece, the 2-length axle and the loose balljoint piece.
The arms: remove the armor add-on.
The G1 pieces on the legs: no idea what to do with that, but it’s a minor complaint.

@DraikNova thank you now I understand what you meent. Ill fix it as soon as possible.

the hips are way too gappy, and should not just out as the sides.

also, those shells above the hips really look off.

overall, 'tis way too gappy for my liking.

Says the person who entered a 3 year old moc. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It wasn’t you? Oops, sorry. I remember that someone said their mocs was three years old or something.

SPLIT_LIP’s?

@Sammythekat ya that is something I have realized and I will fix it. Thanks for the input.

I’ve come up with another idea which I may enter if I can finish my current entry sufficiently early: Makuta as he would be if he stole Gali’s power when she entered the shadow realm. Or, in other words, an excuse to build a big anglerfish.

Incidentally, which of these titles do you think sounds best?
Makuta, Despoiler of Elements
Makuta, Subtil Specter
Makuta, Lord of Shadows

In case you are wondering why I spelled “subtle” wrong, I’m referencing the older meaning of the word (back when it was spelled that way), which was closer to “crafty” or “conniving”, but more suitable for alliteration than either of those two words.

Subtil Specter sounds the best to me.

final contest moc!!!

Yes, I realize the images are crappy. I just had to get rid of it for the time being.
On the other hand, staff GIF’s coming soon. Maybe a video.

Still WIP. Really just trying to finish it because it’ll be the first MOC I built ever that isn’t an Inika build. Functionwise, the trap can open up pretty easily for the big bad to steal and siphon masks.

He looks ready to wreck some stuff.

I’m debating whether to use fabric for my wings a la Nuju Metru’s dragons. I mean, I’ll have to modify it slightly, since I’m going for a more pterosaur-esque wing with a propatagium, but that just means extra connection points. And now that I’ve seen how stable the legs I’ve built actually are (they can stand up perfectly straight for several hours, and that’s without the two main parts of each leg being connected at the top like they will be when the model’s done), I don’t really think “I need parts” is a valid reason to remove the wings. On the other hand, fabric wings wouldn’t be reusable.

So, what do you guys think? Should I go for fabric wings or should I try to make the wing membranes out of CCBS bones and shells?

Or, to put it in the terms they will be judged on in the contest, awesomeness or creativity?

you right

My WIP

Got a idea want from the waist and know exactly want to do for the weapon. Arms, not a clue but I got the hands. Proportions are modelled after my self moc on the whole, he’s sort of a continuation of that too.

Criticism and improvements very much appreciated, as well as needed because I want this guy to be as perfect as possible and right now he isn’t that great is he?

Looking very cool! The only thing I would say is that the legs look a little on the thin side

That’s the idea behind them, thin lower legs with bulky thighs. But thanks tho
