"Makuta Building Contest" W.I.P.s and Finished Creations Topic

I think fabric is a better option for the wing membrane.

Don’t know if this had been shown, but we all knew someone would

Just got Umarak the Destroyer so that I’d have the claws I need to finish my MoUP. Turns out my entry’s legs alone are taller than he is :grinning:.

EDIT: Just received my Bricks and Pieces order. 72 tr. purple pieces and a variety of other goodies. So, if all goes well, I’ll have him finished by tomorrow night, with the exception of the cloth wing membranes.

Reported it, as it violates a rule that states modified/non-lego pieces are not allowed to be used in the contest.

I may reveal before the contest ends

Custom clothes are acceptable I believe but that’s it. But what modified/non Lego pieces does he use

The MoUP
EDIT - Actually I can’t find anywhere where it says you can’t use 3D printed elements

I did ask the rebrick admin in the comments on the contest, and they said that no 3d printed parts were allowed. It’s been taken down now I suppose.

Finished the cape and made my first prototype of the MoUP, but didn’t manage to get it to look that good or figure out a pleasant way to connect the legs. Stupid heatwave.

EDIT: Inspiration, for whoever wants it:

Mine… is so… stinking… close… to being complete… I wonder if my background will be big enough to fit the MOC. XD

I think I figured out how to make a better MoUP than the one I was working on before. Here’s what I got so far:

This version has a lot more depth to it, allowing me to fit the jaw in in a way that doesn’t protrude anywhere near as much as before.

I think background size is going to be a common problem in this competition.

When I took the pictures of mine I had to use a bed sheet as a backdrop, but don’t be stupid like me and actually iron it before taking photos haha

I’m planning to do the same thing. Not sure how to keep the sheet vertical, though.
