The entire figure started with the left hand. I wanted to re-use Sidorak’s claw hand (since that was the only thing I liked about that set), but in the end I redesigned it into something smaller. The right bicep was made slightly smaller so the two arms would still be roughly the same length.
The Av-Matoran torso + Tridax torso combo is inspired by this Spiriah revamp, although I took little else from it; which I sort of regret, as (once again) the Tridax torso proved to be an absolute pain to work with.
The Bohrok foot + Hordika/Kalmah foot combo is something I came up with in 2022 for my Toa Hagah of Light, Ashla. I won’t claim to be the first person to have discovered that technique, but I can definitely say that I discovered it completely on my own.
The wings do not move independently; they’re connected together to form a cape/coat shape. I very much like the idea of Spiriah trying to look much cooler than he actually is.
The little buddy, who I’m thinking of naming “Ratus” or “Turatus,” is built from 33 pieces, not including their daggers.
Just as I’ve gotten rid of most of the grey from Spiriah’s color scheme, I decided to get rid of most of the black from the buddy’s.
I initially wanted to give them Speeda Demon’s mask, but I couldn’t tell if the mask could actually fit in that area (Studio has lied to me before), so I decided to play it safe and use the only other lime “mask” I actually liked, Scorpio’s face.
I like the torso! I don’t like the asymmetrically of his hands, but it does make some sense for a Makuta. The little guy is fun; their legs are great, as are the Mata arms with added shoulder articulation.
I like Little Buddy. Pretty good adaptation of whatever the heck the original guy was. I like how you used the Waspix head to replace the random Av-Matoran skull.
