Nidhiki, Toa of Air

Nidhiki as a Toa of Air. Built for Nidhiki’s eventual canon contest, figured I’d go ahead and get some thoughts on the moc.

The mask is simply a placeholder color, I might(?) paint one in dark green, but I really don’t like painting pieces especially when the art can just recolor it anyway so who cares.
The chest, I’m less certain of. Do I paint it dark green, leave it silver (thus being the only silver aside from his weapon), or something else?

He uses the metru torso build, but modified to allow for a different range of shoulder movement. This does also increase his proportions.

I’m not hard-set on the feet, would use Metru feet if those came in light green.

Like many of my mocs, his weapon can be stored on his back. This pic also shows off his arm poseability.
“Hey Tuyet, check this out. You don’t see Lhikan with arms like these, do you?” #loveiscanon

Obligatory Nyran shot. Why is the scythe hanging off his shoulder? Because reasons.

Also a back shot showing the weapon storage.

And finally, a bonus shot of him using his mask of stealth.

Can you see him?
As I said, this moc is still preliminary, so any feedback is appreciated. Even if it's just "your moc is bad and you should feel bad."

Can’t say I’m a fan of the lime green, and I think the chest would look better without the silver. Quite an interesting scythe design though.

Needs more silver and I feel like the feet don’t work. and may I suggest getting rid of the lime?

But other than that, this moc looks fantastic and has some great ideas, I especially love the modified metru torso

Yeah, not a fan of the lime, and it seems like it needs more silver. Aside from the colors this is pretty nice.

the shoulder build is a bit weird but I really like the use of the krast as the scythe blade.

Really good! My only complaint is that the silver is only in the body and the mask. What you have so far is good, but you need to spread out the silver a bit more.

I suggest you get rid of the Nuva shoulder on the chest and instead add something like a metru green Orkahm body armor since the silver is only on the scythe and the chest. Other than that, nice MOC though!

Huh, didn’t expect the light green to be so unpopular.

The silver mask is, of course, placeholder. Nidhiki’s mask is canonically green, the silver is naught but a placeholder. The chestplate is similar – I just don’t want to paint one until I’m certain I’m going to use it. Regardless, the final version will either have silver distributed, or only on the weapon (and perhaps the mask, but that’s, again, placeholder)

As for the color scheme of light green and Dark green – well, I figure everyone else will be making Nidhiki dark green and silver. I wanted to do something different. Though I guess light green might be unpopular, so maybe I’ll use different colors? I dunno.

Interesting idea, I hadn’t thought of that. That’s certainly something I’m considering now.

I think the lime is unpopular as Nidhiki is known as a coward and someone who slinks around so he would probably just have darker colours-it’s a good idea to stray away from the silver imo but he probably does still need a secondary metal colour to match Lhikan
Edit: still good job so far, good idea to get opinions beforehand.

I think that the lime green/ translucent greeb could work well if it was toned down a bit. It might look better if only the upper limb/upper arm pieces, hands, ankles, neck, and pelvis (Or as I like to call it, the udder) were that color.

Overall, MOC is pretty nice, but preliminaey is the right word. First of all, different types of sockets in legs, it looks not good. Cracks, yeah, we all have cracks:(…
Also he looks bulky. Like of all Toa of air, I think Nidhiki would be best with “skeletal” proportions. Because of that, scythe is kinda too small. But also too thick. It’s something wrong with it, but I don’t know what.
I think there should be eiter no or more silver, especially if you are going to paint the mask. I personnaly would added more, because it fits 2004 and 2005 styles. Lime green is good for me.
I like those shoulders! they are quite interesting and work pretty well, please, share their construction. Also Breez’s feet are cool, look really special.
So, a little improvement, and it would be top-tier entry!

super basic and not particularly interesting, but i definitly don’t hate it. it’s just ok imo, sorry can’t really give more than that. though, unlike other people, i like the lime.

Don’t you just love it when someone uses the mask of stealth and the whole background disappears with them? Makes the thing very subtle.

Great use of the Crast. The feet are killing my soul, though.

Same here.

might be because of the arms, Metru leg arms might be too long though…

you know, I didn’t even realize that there were two variants of that piece until now… now it’s going to bother me.

Aren’t Metru legs and vahki legs the same length though?

Yeah, the the more angular ones (which were introduced in 2008) are more brittle.

no,this is a good interpretation, unlike that garbage Artakha somebody made.

just bc you don’t like something doesn’t make it garbage.
