Okotan Adventures: Spider Saga

The Okotan reacted frighteningly quick, skidding to a stop (quite literally at that going by the noticeable marks on the ground behind him) as he whipped an arm out. Slamming it against the shield in an upward angled strike aimed to knock it up, before whipping his other arm up aimed to catch the (most likely) higher up bottom of the shield and pull it above his head, both preventing Blaze from falling (so long as held onto the shield) and forcing him to lean back a bit while the newcomer stared down at him. His eyes near unnaturally shadowed below his ancient looking, silver mask covered in blue designs.

Due to his actions he also revealed the oddly ancient, and rune covered armoured across his arms, along with a pair of gauntlets that appeared to be made of some translucent purple, crystal-esque material.

“We know you.” The Okotan replied, the distortion in his voice increased to a level where all of the differing voices were audibly speaking.

“You brought us lossangerhatepainfriendshipcompanionshipsomething we no longer have. We wish to gain it back. You will help us find Makuta. He will return it.”

“Wait, Tekan? Dark?” Rena asked, partially recognising the look of the figure and lowering her sword a little.

Blaze recognized its appearance, “Sun-Eater? Lightbringer? Are you guys in there?” Blaze asked, lowering his guard a bit. His sword wasn’t out, showing he wasn’t gonna start attacking anytime soon.

Rena descended the entrance stairs and approached Blaze.
“Is it normal?”

“Tekan?” The Okotan questioned. The shadowed effect around his eyes decreasing enough to reveal a pair of glazed over eyes, a look of confusing struggling to hold itsef within them as he whipped his head around to stare at Rena as she spoke up.

“I… No. IUsTheyWe are… who are we?” The Okotan questioned as he staggered back.

Releasing his hold on Blaze’s shield and clutching his head with both hands. Eyes both a-blaze with pain, and distortion within his voice increasing the longer he spoke.

“We are the LostGuardiansForgottenShellHusk” The seemingly crazed Okotan continued to mutter, his voice beginning to reach near screaming levels of intensity and volume the longer he repeated the garbled mass of words.
The underlying voices, the cause of his distorted speech, and each saying a different word the the rest, also growing in intensity, soon becoming near-unintelligible, pained screams of the repetitive stream of words before suddenly cutting off with an utterance of, “Collected” by the main, overlaying voice.

As the Okotan spoke the name his eyes regained their shadowed covering, a black fluid, disturbingly seeming to have a barely visible a red shine to it, dripping from his sockets as he froze before slowly straightening back up, both arms lowered to his side.

“We are the Collected.” He replied, near tonelessly in speech if it wasn’t for the distortion, seemingly having quickly returned, and the disturbing effect of multiple underlying voices it caused his voice to have.

Streke looked at a map of Okoto at one of the stalls. “Hey, Dakron, come here.” Dakron walked up behind Streke. “What do you say we visit the Region of Fire? I haven’t been there in a while.”
Dakron nodded and signed his affirmation. “Great!” Streke said. “Let’s pack up.”
Dakron gestured to himself, and signed a sentence. “Yeah, well, I need to get some stuff from my hut.” Streke said. The two friends headed off to the hut.

Soon, Streke and Dakron were packed up and ready to go. Streke held a map in front of him. “Alright, I think I see the best path. We’ll cut through the region of Earth a bit, then head straight for the capital.” Dakron nodded, then signed for Streke to lead the way.

The two friends traveled the straighest road possible, so as to reach the Fire Capital soon. They stopped for a break in the Earth Region.
“How are you holding up, Dakron?” Streke asked.
Dakron gave a thumbs up as he gnawed on a piece of bread.

He moved his head back and forth, trying to figure out how best to say what was on his mind, “Depends how you define normal.” He said.

“Remember those living Masks I told you guys about from around when the tournament happened?” He asked her.

“Collected, huh?” He said to the creature, “My name is Blaze.”

“I… Yes we kne… did we know that? Yes. Yes we did. We remember the FireHeatPainSmeltingForgingDeterminationBlaze.” The Okotan replied, cocking his head to the side a touch as he stared at Blaze, a look of… recognition barely managing to struggle out of the grayed, death-like glaze coating his eyes as their shadowed covering yet again faded.

She rose her hand.
“Rena.”

“Why do you seek Makuta?” Blaze asked, curious about why this creature was here.

He recalled something about gaining a lost thing. Are Sun-Eater and Lightbringer part of this ‘Collected’? he thought in response to the look of recognition he spotted when he introduced himself.

Streke and Dakron headed to a Gukko bird station and hopped on it, flying towards what they hoped was the Fire Capital. When the bird landed, Streke walked purposefully in a direction, with Dakron following close behind. The came upon Rena’s villa, and Streke asked Blaze, “Sorry to interrupt, but this is the Fire Capital, right?”

“For the love of-” Streke sweared. He shook his head, then looked up at Rena, Blaze and the Collected. “What the- what’s that?” he asked, pointing at the Collected. “That isn’t like any Okotan I’ve ever seen.”
Dakron walked out from behind Streke and signed something. Rena would likely not be able to understand exactly what was said, but it was clearly a question.

“Calm down, please.” Blaze asked, “I think we can discuss this more freely in the garden.” He said to the Collected while motioning calmly for Rena to lead the way.

“Please, it’s not your business.” Rena said, trying to get rid of them. “Please, leave.”
Rena then lead Blaze and Collected inside the garden."

Dakron stood his ground. Streke turned to leave, not noticing.
Streke turned the corner and left, leaving Dakron. The blind, mute Okotan signed something, clearly insisting that he wanted to stay.
