So let me get this straight
So far we have: burnet’s self insert, 2 pessimistic jungle Okotan’s, and a dude with a fire sword that makes things hot
This is gonna be fun.

Oh, and I almost forgot the character signups for some of the major NPCs!
Name: Tussul (Two-Soul)
Element: Fire
Equipment: Tussul possesses 30 feathered metal bolts as well as a bow with which to fire them, and is an expert shot. He is the most proficient archer in the city of Mask Makers. He also has a satchel with a blank book, ink bottles, and a few feather pens, as well as a dull knife for cutting the feathers.
Appearance: Tussul’s mask is atypical compared to the ever-popular “standard” design Ekimu crafted, instead being circular in appearance with slanted eyes and an air of wisdom. His torso is black, and his limbs bleed from darker shades of red to the most vibrant shade at the end of each extremity. His mask is black.
Bio/Personality: Tussul is unsure, lacking self confidence and any motivation. Any achievement he has earned has been accepted with sheepishness and awkward social inability. However, he refuses most vehemently to back down from any position he is placed in that demands his action - whether than be traveling across the land to rescue Ekimu or going to pick up rocks at the shore. He will gladly second-guess himself later, but the call to action is irresistible.
Tussul is quite obviously hiding something about himself. At barely sixteen years of age, he is a prodigy with the bow, but his manner is secluding and evasive with a smattering of guilt. Press him, and he may eventually talk about his parents all but abandoning him for choosing an element, how his family was the most honorable name in all of Okoto until now, about his dread of the future and dread of failing the expectations of others - how he’ll never be a hero. But something still hides behind that plated face.
Name: Makuta
Element: None, inner element Shadow
Equipment: Makuta wields a massive hammer, used primarily for smithing but outfitted with two decorative spikes on the back to signify it as a warhammer. The head is easily the size of an Okotan’s face, and looks as if it could seriously do some damage.
Makuta also wields the Mask of Control, a mask with more than ambiguous powers. Object manipulation, muscle control, suggestion, and manipulation of existing elemental forces all fall within the capabilities of that mask. Only Makuta is entrusted with it, under the solemn oath that no nefarious deed will ever be done with it, as there is surely no way Makuta would ever turn evil.
Appearance: Makuta is decked out in typical element-less golden armor, with archaic shoulder guards and resplendent touches. His mask, the Mask of Control, has an extended mouthpiece, vicious eyebrows, and two curved horns on either side of the mask, which point slightly upwards. The gaps in his armor glow purple, a color associated with either Earth or Shadow, but Makuta has adamantly insisted his element is shadow.
Bio/Personality: Makuta is strong, unwavering, unkind, decisive, harsh, immovable, and many more adjectives all accomplishing the same description. Makuta is the defacto legal ruler of Okoto, having crafted the rules of its government, society, judicial process, chain of command, and armed guard. However, due to his by-the-book way of doing things and harsh sentences in court magnified by his even harsher attitude, he is the unpopular ruler, with favor given heavily towards his brother, Ekimu. Perhaps in the future his attitude will soften, but for now he will glare with a dry eye at any sympathetic woe brought to his attention. He does not care and he never will; any injustice will be dealt with impassionately and any matter of emotion is one of anger. Do not appeal mercy to Makuta.
After arriving on Okoto, he and his brother Ekimu were made the leaders of Okoto, and Makuta instantly set about structuring the society and world the Okotans had just stepped into. Ekimu oversaw the construction of a glorious city, and argued with his brother on the specifics of most everything, as the two hardly ever agreed on their own. When Ekimu disappeared, Makuta prioritized his rescue above all else, as Okoto needed Ekimu far more than he did.
heck no
my self insert would be of ice
Name: Ekimu
Element: None, inner element Light
Equipment: Ekimu wields a massive hammer, used primarily for smithing but if the situations demands can be used quite competently as a warhammer. The head is easily the size of an Okotan’s face, and looks as if it could do some serious damage.
Ekimu also wields the Mask of Creation, a mask with more than ambiguous powers. Object manipulation, molecular control, precision control, and mastery of any craft all fall within the capabilities of that mask. Only Ekimu is entrusted with it, under the solemn oath that no nefarious deed will ever be done with it, as there is surely no way Ekimu would ever turn evil.
Appearance: Ekimu is decked out in typical element-less golden armor, with archaic shoulder guards and resplendent touches. His mask, the Mask of Creation, has a slightly protruding mouthpiece, kind eyes, and five horn-like points extending upwards from the crown of the mask, covered in Okotan symbols. The gaps in his armor glow blue, a color associated with either Ice or Light, but through arduous testing Ekimu has confirmed without a shadow of a doubt that his element is light.
Bio/Personality: Ekimu is the empathetic mask maker, the favorable, the merciful, the courageous, the charismatic, and the list goes on and on. Ekimu is the people’s leader of Okoto, having become immensely popular as a result of his character, but unwavering on his insistence that he and Makuta are a package deal. However, his lack of experience and capability as an authoritative figure has lead him to be naive and clumsy when it comes to leading the people, and most of the actual running of the city is done by Makuta, with extremely efficient results. Driven by the urge to create and construct, Ekimu has drafted plans and concepts for just about every kind of mask or contraption, with no consideration as to how exactly he would get the resources or manpower to construct them. It took Makuta three months to concoct a working plan to construct the city Ekimu designed.
After arriving on Okoto, he and his brother Makuta were made the leaders of Okoto, and Ekimu instantly set about conceptualizing the capital city of Okoto, to the tiniest detail. Years after its construction, Ekimu’s popularity was on such a high that the public practically begged him to add statues of himself and Makuta to the forge. Upon making a tremendous discovery, Ekimu bolted out the door and disappeared into The Dark, forcing Makuta to issue a search party for his rescue.
nope, no way that’s gonna happen.
also I noticed you just copy pasted Makuta’s and tweaked it for Ekimu’s
so like, could i have a second character?
edit
oop
I might consider it later on after the game’s been going a while, but we haven’t even started yet, so one for now.
i was just thinking about who lucky number five was gonna be is all
Name: Kovis (alias Kovis the Charming)
Element: Jungle
Equipment: Kovis wields two short swords, a hatchet, a climbing hook, a throwing spear, and leather gloves and boots.
Appearance: Kovis has the heroic muscular proportions of a greek god. He has detailed his gloves and equipment with burned engravings and dramatic illustrations, as if they are architecture. He wears a green standard Okotan mask and has red eyes, and stands a head above every other Okotan.
Bio/Personality: Kovis the Charming! Kovis the Brave! Kovis the Hero of The Dark! With titles such as these, it’s a wonder Kovis isn’t the leader of the whole jungle region due to how popular, charismatic, and charming he is. All the ladies swoon and all the men cheer on this handsome rogue of the forest.
Kovis was born into poverty and given very little opportunity, but what opportunities he was given he excelled at. In the region of jungle, he was assistant to the governing body of elders before reaching 20 years of age - he knew almost every craft and trade, was a natural born swimmer, climber, acrobat, fighter, and proved his capability in every department. For one born into nothing, he has risen to the top in the most dramatic display of natural prowess that ever existed.
Makuta’s letter never reached him, however. One wonders how he will meet the preparing party…
now this sounds like a character Ghid would make
now i want my character to die so i can make another one to kill this guy with a sharp, ornately-decorated five foot pole
…but how would jaawu get his shotgun then?

I have considered joining within the hour the topic went up. However, I will unfortunately decline the offer. I may be able to force myself to write regardless of fatigue or the rare instance of missing motivation, but I can’t without a spark. No bolt of inspiration or idea of direction, I can’t create without one of those.
Sure, I have hundreds of already existing characters, but I like to make new ones tailored to the specific game.
uh, oh, okay, wow, you’re giving me another chance? Just try and act natural? Ok. thanks. Yeah. Who was the candidate again? Well, I guess he isn’t quite as intimidating as ajtazt. I see. Ok. I won’t let you down.
