Okoto//Turning Dark

Honestly, after talking to the leakers, not going to lie. Of all the leaks we have reported on, this is probably the most legitimate thing I’ve seen.

I would be very surprised if this information has been faked.

Looks fake to me. The paragraphs are identical for Reasons of Cancelling BIONICLE and Hero Factory. Cmon, if you seriously gonna fake it put some effort then

@piepie

Just saying, If real, chances are Lego would have a very generic response as stating the reason for the line being cancelled was ‘poor sales’ would imply a weakness in the line, something Lego likely would want to avoid. Though I admit having two paragraphs with virtually identical responses does seem a little suspicious.

I suppose with the chance that Hero Factory at one stage was popular enough to be considered for a movie does imply that they don’t want to tarnish the reputation of the line encase they decide to bring it back, something implied in the documents.

“But the possibility that Hero Factory returns in a new form back, cannot be ruled out.”

Also, wouldn’t they have exactly the same response? it just makes sense. It’s probably just a blanket response for all themes. They don’t want to go into detail with these things.

A generic response is logical.

That would actually be pretty awesome. Creation and Destruction are two opposing forces that, though also cliched to an extent, are not nearly as common as Light and Darkness, especially in Bionicle… so it would be nice to see that show up. And hey, if it turns out that Artakha IS in the story, why not Karzahni for destruction? He basically filled that role in the earlier story. (I always thought that the Olisi should’ve been the Mask of Destruction and the weird dream thing should’ve been a power that Karz himself possessed. But that’s neither here nor there.)

New island named Okoto? Toa called Toa? The return of mini-movies?

Not what I was expecting, but not unpleasant either.

Continuation supporters will probably be able to twist it into a continuation somehow, but I’m thinking Okoto is more evidence that it’s a reboot.

Mt prediction for the 5 summer sets is that 1 will be a “good guy” and the other 4 will be “bad guys” The good guy possibly being Takanuva but unlikely and it will be “mask maker” do to the amount we’re seeing of the Mask of Creation. The villains will probably consist of a 20-30 dollar main villain set and three 15 dollar bad guy sets.

I have already missed the conversation. Does anyone know what this packet of information is for?

Presumably Lego stores or some other Lego-company-associated retail establishment

This document is very reassuring about how they’re handling Bionicle. They seem to want to try and please us old fans while still targeting their primary audience.

This seems to sadly be a controversy, but I am very happy Greg may be writing the new books. I’ve always liked his writing. He was even able to make the HF story interesting enough for me to care.

I personally am glad that Greg isn’t going to be in charge of the main story, or writing serials… his books were okay.

Sorry, revealing that info would compromise the identity of the new Highly Suspect.

I really hope this isn’t a chimaesque "We fight the bad guys for these items (Masks replacing chi) without actually having a reason, other than the fact that everyone is power mad and does nothing but fight.
