This is my take on what everyone’s favorite Toa Nuva of Stone looked like when he was trapped aboard the Red Star: Pohatu Nuva. Obviously, I took his Phantoka form as a base level of inspiration, and ran with it from there. Given that the Red Star is a highly advanced technological machine full of enemy hostiles, I like to think that his Adaptive Armor would have made him look both technically advanced and, well, tough.
I had to keep his classic foot additions from his first two iterations, as they are too iconic to abandon, but I did opt to flip his ‘gearbox’ to the more traditional setup as other Toa. His weapons are functional, and work similar to Toa Hordika Whenua’s Thumpers. I admit, I wasn’t always a big fan of his orange color palette, but it has grown on me over the years. His HUD mask addition from his time as a pilot was too cool NOT to include.
I do plan on doing Kopaka Nuva in a similar style, as well as revamping the notoriously bad Gaardus. Hope you like him, and please leave thoughts and criticism below!
@Powers0016 Wow, thanks a lot man! Intricate is the word I was looking for, and exactly the aesthetic I was going for without it becoming too busy. Thank you very much for the praise, and stay tuned for Kopaka! He should be done next week.
Looks good! I like the reasoning behind all the techy, greebly details, and they all mesh together to create a reasonably coherent style. Nice color blocking as well, I really like the adaptive weapons. Neat moc!
@Rukah Thanks for the detailed compliment! I agree that he does have a design that could not be considered sleek, and maybe that could be improved upon a bit. I’ll keep that in mind when I work on Kopaka! Glad you like him.
@Rukah sorry for the delayed reply. I think sleek fits Kopaka’s character a bit better, too, so I do genuinely mean it when I say thank you for pointing out the aesthetic.
@NoIdeaForAUsername Agreed! It’s used well on Thunder, but it’s definitely one of the most ‘BIONICLE’ pieces HF ever used, and I think it would have been well suited to G2, too. Such a shame, but I’m glad you like how they’re used here!
