Salvation: Part II

Epsilon tries to figure out what to do: kill Nova or try to lead him into a trap so he can be killed more easily?

“Leave.” Zepar growls at Lockdown, “You’ll gain nothing here.”

Delta’s ursagryph mode smirked as she turned to Salvo.
“We will remain in history as the ones who killed Lockdown!”
She then turned back to Lockdown and screamed as loudly as her lungs were letting her.

Both sighed in the same time, before they both flew from above the squadrom and tried to hit them with everything they’ve got- fire, lasers, etc.

Scorchlock continued to drive, his steering wheel turning around as he took turns and drifted around like a professional.

“And when that happens. I’ll be the one who snatches his spark out with one of my katanas…” He said coldly, Topside could tell there was something personal between Scorchlock and Bludgeon.

“And, whoever stands in my way. I’ll take them out as well. No matter who they are.”

Suddenly Scorchlock had been put to the test in deciding on what he should do and choose. He picked up the emergency and heard the pleading voice of Gronius.

“Gronius needs assistance,” Scorchlock told Topside. “Can you help the others on the battlefield while I assist him?” He asked. “Bludgeon is nowhere to be found so I can’t drive like this forever…oh and Topside.” He mentioned. “When Bludgeon shows up, be there.” He said. “I want to have a witness as I kill him.”

Seeing that Scorchlock was one of the first bots to be in range of the tower’s comm system, Gronius’ location -the main tower- would not be too far away.

Nova Prime seemed unaware of Epsilon’s presence, and he was taking advantage of the others’ unfamiliarity with him to try and persuade them into following his lead.

“Does the ‘chosen by Primus’ thing still have any weight in this age?” he asks.

“I reckon it does,” the same Decepticon from before says. “Why; you claiming to be in the Bot Upstairs’ good graces?”

Nova laughs.

“Apparently,” he says. “I’m not sure how much he and I see eye-to-eye, but…”

This remark clearly causes those around Nova to become more suspicious. Something about this fellow clearly wasn’t right…

The Mercenary leaps out of the way, but only just barely. He regains his bearings quickly, however.

The Heretic squadron takes cover from the attack. The two Heavy Troopers fire the cannons on their backs: one aiming for Song, the other for Alterion.

“Suits me fine!” Topside says as he runs into the fray, the barrels of his rifle emitting bright flashes as they spit out a torrent of ammunition.

“Wouldn’t mind getting into the books for that!” Salvo calls as she fights, cutting a charging Heavy Trooper in two with her beam cannon. The turrets on her shoulders waste a mercenary attempting to flank her.

Lockdown continues at his pace, appearing to pay no mind to Zepar’s words or Delta’s roar. It almost seemed like he intended to walk right through the battle raging around him, if he’d be so allowed.

There were many narrow windows in this structure- any one of them might be the bridge.

Gatecrasher, however, would have a more pressing concern as an automatic turret deploys from the face of the “plateau” and begins to open fire upon him. Sprocket began to take fire from another turret as well, and peels away; he most definitely wasn’t equipped to take on a command ship.

Beneath Salvation, Broadband, Flyby, Breakswitch, and Motherboard were fending off a squad of enemies.

“Y’know!” Broadband comments in between bursts of fire from her cannon, “I’m starting! To think! That sitting in a chair and taking phone calls! Wasn’t such a bad job!”

Flyby assumes his jet mode and begins to strafe the Heretic troopers, while his sister lays into them with her machine pistols. Motherboard, meanwhile, appeared to be just standing behind a metal pillar- but appearances could be deceiving, as her visor displayed calculations for a firing solution for one of Salvation’s beam turrets…

Elsewhere on the island, Thrift punches a mercenary into submission with the stingers on his forearms, smirking as his foe writhes from the electric shocks the weapons administered.

“And now, you will pay the price for your lack of vision!” he cackles in a bad impression of Ian McDiarmind. As if to punish the junkion for this slight, a sniper shoots him in the shoulder with an energon pistol. Thrift falls onto a rock, clutching the wound. Luckily, Grommet was nearby, and reduces the marksman to a crumbling heap of scrap metal with a shot from his corrosive slime cannon.

“Would you stop with your incessant quotations?!” the Decepticon scientist pleads.

“But that’s part of my charm!” Thrift wittily protests.

“That is very much open for dispute,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ deadpans, as he delivers a lightning-fast punch to a Ground Trooper that causes the side of the unfortunate soul’s head to cave in.

They scramble to safe place.

“Then shall we do that together?”

She Throws her parking brake, and turns quickly facing the Mercenary (who shall henceforth be known as bob). She started again, driving towards Bob.

GC spiraled and banked and dodged the turrets shots, and opened with his 30mm. THIS is what his alt-mode was built for, static targets.

Gronius kept waiting impatiently for Scorchlock, seeing his sister and Alterion fighting on a screen.

Redstocker, meanwhile, turned to all of the prisoners in his towers.
“Gentlemen!” he yelled as he stood on a table above them all, with his shot-gun (that he hopefully somehow acquired by now) in hands. “We have two possibilities! We either stay here and… You know… Die, a foolish death, like a peasant in the mud, or we go there and beat the crap out of all of those heretics, and we dine off of their dead bodies, we drink our Energon out of their skulls and we feast in the glory of the battle, of the carnage, of the blood, of the hell! Who is with me?!” he said with an enthusiasm that would remember the ones who met him before of his senile self.
@Chromeharpoon

Scorchlock smirked slightly behind his faceplate before he turned around. “See you there.” He said as he was speeding now towards…

…the Main Tower. “Gronius. I’m approaching the tower. Stay sharp.” He said through the comlink, as he drove very fast, putting a little nitro in boosting him up a bit before transforming and launched himself like a bullet before landing on the ground.

“Where you at?” Scorchlock asked through the com as he looked around. (@Toa_Vladin)

“Obviously not in the tower!” he yelled through the comms, tho he could be heard from outside.
“How does he know my name?” he then whispered to himself, before shrugging his shoulders and considering that it probably was as a result of one of his former missions.

Scorchlock flinched at the yells that came from Gronious through the comlink. He blinked a few times before coming back to his senses.

“Obviously…” He muttered.

He then walked towards where the yelling of Gronius’s voice lead him to. (@Toa_Vladin)

He would find Gronius in front of multiple holo-screens that were controling a good portion of the weapons that Scorchlock saw outside. The Omega Key could be seen at its centre.
Not recognising Scorchlock as a higher up, Gronius sighed.
“'right! You listen up: my twin sister Wildsong and legendary Autobot general Alterion are outside, trying to hold all the heretics that want the key back. My shields won’t hold them for too long. I need you to go help them right now!”

Scorchlock crossed his arms and titled his hip towards the right, in a sassy way even as he noticed him not recognizing Scorchlock as a higher up but it didn’t matter.

“I can do that.” He said, nodding his head. “Do you have their exact location?” He asked, ready to get down to business, especially if Gronius had a sister, he didn’t want for someone to lose a loved one.

(@Toa_Vladin)

Thrust spins to the left and down, dodging the shots.

“Look in a mirror.” grunted Vigor.

Zepar moves to try and stop Lockdown, his rage being mitigates by fear; fear of Lockdown’s reputation.

“He’ll be worse than Bludgeon.” Epsilon said on the comms, “Don’t let him get an attack in.”

The rest of the squad deploys their weapons and takes aim at Gronius and Alterion.

“Hell, I’m down,” Salvo says as a Heavy Trooper manages to strike her with a hammer. The Quartermaster recoils, but quickly returns the favor by blowing a hole in the Trooper’s chest with her cannon. Salvo then turns her attention to Lockdown.

Lockdown, continuing his stride, deploys a rifle from his right forearm.

Some of the crew members raise their weapons at Nova. The disgraced Prime sighs.

“Ah, what a shame,” he laments. “Maybe later I’ll find someone gullible enough to follow me.”

Nova rises above the ground, deploying his feather-cannons as the crew members fire upon him to no avail. Nova’s cannons spin around him as they obliterate his newfound adversaries.

“What the heck are you doing?!” a guard hisses. “Don’t incite the prisoners!”

Bob the Mercenary deploys a blaster from his left forearm, and shoots at Juliana.

The turret is disabled, but many more were now deploying on and around the structure. It was doubtful that Gatecrasher could evade and destroy them all.

Sprocket was hovering far away- as much as he wanted to help, he stood even less of a chance of standing up to that kind of firepower than he did. The scientist chose instead to focus his fire on dropships trying to make a break for the island below.

Thunderblast… doesn’t pursue. She banks hard to the right and begins to dart off elsewhere.

Banzaitron chuckles, before firing a shot from one of his blasters at Vigor’s other leg.

The shot shears off her driver’s side mirror. This did little to deter her however, as she barreled towards bob.

‐------

GC decided to try a different approach, and tried to sneak into the hangar.

He pointed to them via a window.

Alterion was regrouping with Wildsong. Gronius was inside the tower.

Delta lunged at Lockdown.

“They will be of use!”

This was bad news for Bob the Mercenary. He’s rammed by Juliana, rolling over her and hitting the ground behind her.

OOC: whoops; my mistake.

IC:

The Heavy Ground Troopers fire their back-cannons at Song and Alterion again. The standard Ground Troopers fire their rifles, as well.

“No they won’t!” the guard hisses. "Their buddies are the ones bombing the slag out of us right now, if you’ll remember.

Forcep had left the building, entering the battlefield to lend aid to the wounded.

Delta would pass right through Lockdown- the fog and chaos of battle had managed to disguise the imperfections of what was now clearly a hologram.

Far to the right, an allied Decepticon’s chest suddenly burst open, and the bot falls to th ground, now dead. An Autobot cries out and brings their rifle and to bear, but they are swiftly decapitated by an unseen foe.

The closest hangar was a small bay below the bridge structure. Sprocket follows Gatecrasher, now able to perhaps lend more of a hand.

Unfortunately, this hangar was occupied. Gatecrasher’s arrival is noticed by a squad of five Ground Troopers, who had been boarding a dropship.

GC switched to tank mode, and dropped to the ground, sending quite the vibration through the ground. He aimed his cannons at the first of the troopers.

She TF’d, and slid to a stop, she draws her blade, and runs up to him, preparing to stab his face, unless he had the speed to stop her before she got there.
