Salvation: Part II

Spectrum sighed sadly.
“S-s-so w-what’s y-y-your n-name?” She asked.

Split continued looking through the capsules for anything that could be significant to the tests.

“Well isn’t this interesting.”
Starchaser mused. With something as significant as this, it would have to be the key they were looking for. She walked up to the door and tried inserting the capsule.

“This is way too useful to just be lying around. The lab boys will probably give me a fortune for this.”
Pipebomb said as he tossed the capsule into his bomb bag.

“Not much use to us, as we lack the capacity to manufacture ships. But fascinating none the less.”
Broadwing said.

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you,” the ghost says, underestimating what Spectrum and the rest had been through thus far.

Topside grabs Starchaser’s wrist just before she inserts the capsule.

“Wait,” he says. “Something tells me we won’t get another chance if we choose wrong. We should talk this out.”

Split discovers plans for the combination sparks like the ones our heroes had aboard Salvation.

Spectrum shook her head. “T-T-Tell!”

Split frowns. “I doubt this is it, we already have those.” He glanced up at the others. “Have you guys found anything that could help?”

“Matrix shells, various artworks, weapons, ships, artificial planets, medical equipment and Primus knows what else.” Zepar said tiredly, “I have no clue what the right choice is.”

“Lumaria(?),” Garand asks, “Why so many different designs in this chamber?”

“Its a Matrix Case. If anything is gonna be the key, it’s gonna be this.”
Starchaser replied.

“I found a plan for a machine that can make energon outta sunlight. Don’t think its the key, but it’ll probably be a big help back on the ship.”
Pipebomb said.

“We probably only have one attempt to get this right.” Epsilon said, popping out from a pile of capsules.

“Okay, but it could literally be anything. So we can either debate on what to do until the heat death of the universe, or we can take some action.”
Starchaser replied.

“Well, all we have is “Choose Wisely” written on the door.” Zepar reminded the group. “Not exactly a helpful hint.”

“Whatever the right one is, it would have to match with qualities Lemuria(?) is testing for.” Garand said, “what those are, specifically, is still a mystery.”

“Very well, little one,” the ghost says. But then, his attention is drawn to our other heroes’ squabbling.

“They fight for the same cause, but they fight among themselves as well,” he sighs, shaking his head. “How depressingly familiar…”

The ghost Spectrum had been talking to rises to his feet.

“Enough!” he shouts, his deep voice carrying throughout the room.

Epsilon and the Angelicons suddenly turn to face the ghost to see who had spoken.

Pipebomb, Starchaser, and Broadwing all turned their attention to the ghost.

“… How did I not notice that until now?”
Starchaser said.

“The tests are designed so that only a team of people working together may complete them,” the ghost says, his features still hidden in shadow.

“From what I have seen, it is a miracle you have made it this far,” he continues angrily. “You seek the same end, but you are not united. You rush to act by yourselves, and bicker when brought together. If you are our people’s only hope, then it is a desperate hope indeed.”

“Well excuse me pal. Maybe if you left a clue that actually meant something, then maybe we’d make better progress.”
Starchaser said indignantly.

“Starchaser, please.”
Broadwing replied softly.

“No way. No spectral spawn of of a glitch is gonna step up and insult us like that.”

The ghost steps into the light, revealing himself to be, unmistakably, the spectre of Megatronus.

“Heed my words as you will,” he says, “but if Cybertron’s heroes are divided, our people will fall; as they have before.”

The Angelicons immediately bow to the Prime, recognizing him.

Split shook his head. “Yeah I don’t think so either… Maybe we’re just not thinking hard enough?”

As Megatronus stands up and steps into the light, Spectrum follows him happily.

Broadwing and Starchaser both immidietly drop down and bow before the Prime. Pipebomb looked at the two of them, confused.

“What are you two so worked up for?”
He asked.

“Don’t you know who this guy is?!”
Starchaser said in a harsh yet quiet voice.

“Uh… Should I?”

“This is Megatronus, one of the Original 13 Primes.” Garand said, “Please show some respect.”

“Oh. One of those guys. You know I never really heard much about the primes before starting this mission. If I’m being honest… I was kinda expecting something more.”

“Would you shut up before you get us killed!”
Starchaser scolded.

“Come on. He’s a ghost. What’s he gonna do?”
