The kid is the one telling the whole story aka what a chronicle should be doing. Hope there is a twist at the end where we see him all in his gold & white armor saying I am Takanuva of this story.
Well, he was being told the prophecy of heroes, so he’s a descendant of the PoF. I reckon the PoF is gonna die at some point and this guy will take his place, or become Takanuva or something

It would be very strange for a little kid to suddenly become a big, hulking toa who’s supposed to protect the villagers. Besides, i don’t want a repeat of what happened with takanuva…

Were you a fan of G1, Char? That happened left and right. 
I do agree that sometimes, such a transition can be handled poorly; but I’m sure that if the Baby Protector were to become a Toa, he would at the very least become an Adult Protector, so to speak, beforehand.
