3rd or 1st, I prefer the mostly black on the first one but the third also looks good.
Definitely option 3
I like option 2
Gonna have to go with the secret 4th option, including it on the arms but not on the chest. The pattern on the cloth is very jagged and broken up, and the solid block of purple in the chest conflicts with that. Perhaps if it were a different piece it might work better, or if those short tubes were purple (if LEGO even made short tubes in that color).
Thanks all for the opinions!
Secret 4th option (note it’s just a mashup of two pictures so that’s why it looks a bit jarred, I won’t touch the chest construction again until the decision is final.):
It does makes the purple a little more subtle.
Honestly that’s a better edit than I would’ve done
I do prefer the secret 4th option, but now I’m also wondering where the slightest hint of purple can be sneaked in elsewhere on the model. The black and silver color blocking is so good though; it makes it hard to suggest anything else that might upset the balance.
A very subtle addition could happen by replacing the L3 liftarms behind the Metru armour on the forearms with purple ones. But I think that’s so subtle that’s it’s not really worth it. I also only have three such liftarms in purple left.
The legs, too, use L3 liftarms in the spot where they widen out just below the Hordika feet. But there I think purple would be not very subtly placed.
Not sure if dark purple studs exist and whether I have any, but those would be another option I can think of. They might stand out too much both on the upper arms and on the lower legs, though.
Dark purple studs do exist, but they might clash a bit with the Onepu purple since they’re more bluish (assuming you mean the colour I’m thinking of)
I meant the purple I’m already using. Which is just “purple” on bricklink, yeah. Guess dark purple is something else.
Would trans-purple work, since that’s a similar-ish colour that studs do come in?
Trans-purple is quite a different colour. I don’t think that would work.
So, next Makuta I want to give an update is Isthra.
Original by @Willess12:
My previous revamp from 2018:
The head is the main thing that needs an update, but I’m also not too happy with the lower legs and torso anymore.
Starting with the legs, I had a bit of trouble deciding how to go about them. The roboriders head piece in principle is nice, but connecting it is the trouble if I don’t want the legs to be super bulky when armored also from the back 8which the previous legs kinda weren’t).
So instead I went a different route and made the legs digitigrate. The big question there is, though - does that feel tolerable compared to the original, or is this too much of a change?
The original is, frankly, a terrible photograph, because I can’t even tell what’s happening with the legs. I had to go find the original topic in order to comprehend what’s going on here.
And honestly, since you dropped the bright blue in the color scheme, it probably wouldn’t hurt to add digitigrade legs to give the moc a bit more personality. The original moc is female, which is really hard to tell with the way it’s built, and you did a pretty good job with slimming the proportions without going overboard; the double-jointed knees would only help strengthen that impression.
Having to back out of this collab was so disappointing at the time you have no idea ![]()
Slight updates to the legs, and started on the torso. Somehow, as of late my torsos all get wild with angles, but this here has potential, I think… I’ll probably move the shoulder joints one unit back and up, though.
Having the Nuva shoulders go into the Rahkshi eye slits is surprisingly enough only slightly illegal, so there’s not much stress on anything.
A few things to note:
- arms are just the old ones to see how things generally look, I will probably still modify them
- the outermost barbs/dinosaur tail pieces around the neck are not currently connected, and certainly they would somewhat interfere with shoulder articulation right now.
But I think this is going somewhere I like…
I think I’ll do the head next before finishing the torso.
And I might eventually actually revert to plantigrade legs. I think something a bit more straight and bulky might work better overall.
I’m also considering again adding a cape/cloak… I still have some green cloth from Cenred’s banner. That might work here, even if it is a different green than Metru green.
Honestly, the shaping all around is so much better than the previous iteration. The double jointed knees are fitting in perfectly with the rest of the model and the proportions are on point. No complaints from me

So, here’s a head. But I will need to change the legs. Any more weight, and this won’t be able to stay upright. Joints are too weak.
Put some more work into the head - and actually managed to add 2 more dark green robot arms for a total of 11 now. Though I feel like the chin could usesomething more, but I’m not sure what part would fit…
Put also some work into the back - which is not very pretty, but if I add a cape, that should be ok, I guess. To make it pretty, I’d have to use one larger part to cover it and not smaller technic stuff, but I need the samller technic stuff to attach the collar". And I can’t add another layer on the back since that would make it stick out too much.
And finally, I tackled a design for plantigrade legs. Need to get more Rahkshi heads in white and then see further. The Hordika neck in grey is kinda annoying from the back, though.
Not sure which of the leg designs is best, to be honest. The shaping is a little more consistent with the left one, but there’s no visible dark grey anywhere else on the model and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
As for the head… I’m sorry, but those eyes are just too close together and so tiny. I don’t know how you could do it differently, but they are very teensy and narrow.
The eyes are actually as far apart as they’d be on a Metru head. They just lack a bit of horizontal width in comparison. Since the entire head is built around that trans orange hand piece, for the moment I have full intention to stick with it, though.
Might be able to switch the colors of those 1x1 bracket pieces that hold on the front two Exo Force arms? Might be too bold, though… could definitely ruin the subtlety of the entire head.
