You say that, and yet I’ve seen better paint applications on one inch Transformer figures
Lack of quality is lack of quality; I’ve been very dissatisfied with most everything they’ve put out since Thrilling 30 ended and it’s saved me a lot of money disinterested me in Transformers as a whole
Although I will say some of the R.E.D/Masterpiece/Platinum figures have been top notch

True. That would be a big mistake were Hasbro to put paint where it could be easily worn away from normal use.
You’re comparing apples and oranges here, R.E.D, Platinum Edition and MP have a larger budget than a Core Class figure- I doubt Hasbro would deliberately make a “low quality” figure, i suspect the lack of paint apps is not due to negligence, but rather the cost of painting the figure
Plus, the grey plastic used there probably isn’t paint-able in the first place

The socket was my complaint - all around the edge are unpainted areas that would’ve been really easy to tackle before the arm got built. There’s a large number of additional areas that could’ve been easy to paint as well and weren’t done up to snuff.
That wasn’t meant as a direct comparison and it’s why the sentences were split that way. I’m obviously not comparing Masterpiece to a $12 figure although $12 really doesn’t buy what it used to, dang but seeing that not too many years ago the quality control on products was much higher has made me more and more disappointed in the products they put out since.
Well, at least they don’t look like Animated.
The budget has shrunk over the years, and if you wanted that much paint you would probably be looking at a 16$ or 18$ figure
