I have returned, this time its because I made a cool Moc (For once) that I will show off, once I finish cleaning my table off. But for now, the stuff I got in since my last post; starting with model kits:
One of the 395 Warechu Plushes. He can’t support himself, so I used the Moc I mentioned earlier to stand him up.
Thats all for now, though I am definitely forgetting something… Oh well, probably wasn’t important.
These are the more interesting bits. The Duplo bricks on the far right are pretty old. The top one is a birthday brick from 2007, the Life on Mars one is from 2001, and the skull is a Brick-or-Treat token from 2017. The middle brick is something that is given out on Lego factory tours. However, the most interesting item is the Lego Life Minifigure on the far left. A few minutes of research told me he’s from the debut of Lego Life or shortly after it, distributed at a New York Lego store. A site told me there were only about 10,000 created.
These have to be the most interesting things, however. The six bricks arranged in an arc are, from what I can tell, an unreleased or unofficial color. When I was gifted them, I was told they were a combination of Lego’s red and yellow colors. I put a red and an orange brick next to them to prove they are not those colors, and after a comparison to the dark orange Life on Mars brick, I can confirm they are not dark orange either. As far as I’m aware, these are six of an extremely small number of these bricks ever distributed, maybe even the only of this color ever distributed.
Cool! You may have received some prototypes from testing new molds. I’ve seen several books that mentioned Lego giving employees 2x4 test bricks when they buy new molds. That may be the origin of these parts.
It was not a test mold - that much I can be sure of. They have uniform scratches on them, which I would guess means the mold is scratched and therefore probably pretty old. Additionally, the machine that made them was on-site, so I could watch these being made.
Though I gotta ask; whose bright idea was it to make nitro convoy / override an automorph figure? None of the other cybertron figures suffer as much as that one mold and none of the transformations steps are complex enough that they couldn’t be done manually.
Ooh, awesome! Sideways is amazing, Hot Shot’s great… Blurr’s a figure I’m still looking for
And I suppose it’s worth asking, is it worth tracking down the Japanese/Korean release of Override? I absolutely hate the bright orange face of the Hasbro version but equally I’ve experienced the mold through the GTS redeco so I know how compromised it is… but gosh that car mode looks gorgeous. I’ve got the Legacy version up on my Cybertron shelf for now, but I’m always on the fence about getting the original too
Had no idea she was on BBTS. I know they had the Korean release of Leobreaker on there a while back, but when I went looking for Cybertron/Galaxy Force stuff on there a few months ago I couldn’t find anything. Is this all new stock?
It was pretty random seeing these korean boxes drop. I’ve still got a crosswise coming in as well though yeah unfortunately no Optimus combiner partners or other main characters besides hot shot; I would’ve loved to have gotten the voyager cybertron starscream ahead of his legacy version.
Crosswise is another one I still need to get, though I managed to find Starscream last year while I was at TFNation. Truly wonderful figure, I’ve currently got him hanging out with the rest of my Cybertron Decepticons
